About Frank Gilbride
Hi, I'm Frank and I'm a passionate family man. I'm dad to five amazing kids and a wonderful wife. Spending quality time with them is my favourite thing to do. When I'm not busy being a dad, I help my wife run her care business. I'm a big sports lover and enjoy running. I'm a member of a local running club. I recently completed my first marathon and I've run several half marathons etc. I also enjoy playing golf. I also enjoy food and travel. That's why I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds when they come to stay at our apartments. Arguably, Glasgow's greatest asset is its people, and our ability to make visitors and strangers to our wonderful city feel at home is renowned the world over. We're no different from the rest of our Glaswegian brethren and one of the great things about being a host is getting the chance to meet people from every corner of the globe.
Frank Gilbride purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Frank Gilbride chose East End
Although I was born and raised in Glasgow, I no longer live in the city. I live in a small city called Dunblane, about 30 miles north of Glasgow. My career took me away from Glasgow and I lived and worked in Wales and England before moving back to Scotland to start my own business. Fortunately, we were in a position to buy a second home and we wanted it to be back in Glasgow as we just love socialising in the city so much. So we bought this apartment for its close proximity to all the wonderful amenities in the city centre. It's allowed us to have some great nights out in the city without having to worry about how we are going to get home. Now we've decided to share that proximity to the delights of Glasgow with all our lovely guests.

Very nice place, great host. Very clean, good amenities. No complaints here!
Fantastic experience, super helpful host, VERY clean apartment.
Thanks very much for your wonderful review. We’re so glad you enjoyed the apartment and we’d love to welcome you back anytime.
Wonderful, clean home
Within an easy walking distance to the busy Merchant City restaurants and shops. We walked to the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis, walked to the shopping on Buchanan street and walked to Grand Central Station to take the train to London. We used Uber to get over to University of Glasgow and the Mackintosh house, and walked the 2.5 miles back. It was a wonderful trip.
I'm glad you and your family enjoyed your stay in our apartment and that you found it clean. We work hard to make sure the apartment is always in great condition for our guests, as it helps if you know you are coming back to nice apartment after hard day sightseeing. We always aim to make it a real home from home for our guests.
The apartment is centrally located on the edge of Glasgow's vibrant Merchant City which boasts some of the city's chicest bars and restaurants. A two-minute walk will bring you into the heart of the Merchant City social scene. A favourite of ours is McChuills a popular pub and live music venue which serves good pub grub, a wide range of beers and showcases some of the city's leading bands.
For families visiting their student offspring, one of Glasgow's two leading universities Strathclyde University is right on the doorstep while Glasgow University in the city's West End is just a short taxi ride/bus journey away.
If sport is more your scene, then the Emirates sports stadium, home of the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome(cycle track) is a short car/bus/taxi journey away. The Commonwealth swimming pool at Tollcross is also nearby. For football fans, Celtic Park, the home of one of Glasgow's most famous clubs is a 10 minute cab ride away.
If history and culture is your preference, then The Merchant's Apartment is set on the edge of the most historic part of the city, literally where it all began for Glasgow. The medieval 12th century Glasgow Cathedral is a few minutes walk away and just opposite is the oldest house in Glasgow, Provand's Lordship built in 1471 and known locally as the ' Auld Hoose'.
The ever popular Tron Theatre which showcases a wide variety of productions is a popular haunt for the city's theatrical buffs. It's again just a few minutes walk from the apartment.
For lovers of the great outdoors, the famous Clyde Walkway is just a few minutes walk away. The 45 mile/60km long route takes you from the bustling middle of the city and passes through some of the country's most spectacular and tranquil countryside ending at the scenic Falls of Clyde at historic New Lanark.
