This is a beautiful, very private house sitting on 8 acres on the beach. The sunsets are spectacular, and the view from the deck is the ocean and Niihau. A short walk and you're on a gorgeous beach where you can watch surfers at the popular surf spot, Infinity, also known as Pakala.

If you are looking for a place where you can just rest and relax, this is it! Besides the 2 spacious bedrooms & baths, there is a fully-equipped kitchen, living room and family room. A table that seats six is on the deck where you can enjoy meals outdoors.

There are many boat tours of the Na Pali coastline nearby and the road to Waimea Canyon and Kalalau Lookout are just minutes away as well. We are descendants of the Sinclair/Robinson family who arrived in 1864 and purchased the island of Niihau from King Kamehameha V. The land where this house sits and all the surrounding lands, the ahupua'a of Makaweli, was purchased from Victoria Kamamalu, granddaughter of King Kamehameha I, a few years later. We offer a taste of Old Hawai'i here in Makaweli.

Awesome place to call home

We wanted a home away from home where we could relax without throngs of people and the usual resort hussle bussle, away from noise and lots of space for quiet contemplation. It couldn't have been better for us and the other couple! Truly took the wrinkles out of our souls. The kitchen was fully equipped and there were thoughtful things throughout - way more throughout than we expected. Towels, bedding, laundry, detergents so that shopping wasn't necessary for the basics. Clean, comfortable, lots of room for 4 adults or more. Hanapepe wonderful to explore. Lots of groceries close by, local little shops and the drive to the rest of the island easy, especially Poipu. Even though the swimming was less than other places, it was stil possible, lots of long beach walks with not a soul around but surfers. Our hosts were wonderfully accommodating and gave us total privacy. We will return and happily recommend this property. Thank you so very much. Don and Suzan
