Great Ocean Getaway
Overall, the rental was exactly as described - small and cozy, 1 block from Ocean Beach, close to lots of food, restaurants and bars, quiet neighborhood, and easy check in and check out. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Would Visit Again
Perfect beach location! The owner had all of the beach items we needed and the walk was very short to the beach. Even my 2 year old was able to walk the distance without being carried. The place is very cute, clean, and has everything you need. My daughter keeps asking to go back. If we ever go back to San Diego we'd definitely book here again.
Very comfortable, parking spot was key, easy walk to beach and restaurants, hopefully will be back
Sweet and cozy beach home
We enjoyed our stay in Ocean Beach at this property. The home was exactly as advertised on the listing. Its located 1 block away from the beach which was super convenient for a daily visit. Katrina had all the necessary beach equipment we needed (chairs, beach towels, umbrella, and a wagon to tow all these items) The home had the amenities we needed. We primarily had breakfast at the house. The sleeping arrangements were comfortable. The neighbors were pretty quiet. There were a few good restaurants within 15 minute walking distance. Finally, the place had a garage which was a life saver since street parking was unavailable pretty much all the time. One thing to notice is that the home is the flight path of airplanes landing, which seems to shut down late at night, and for us it was not a big deal.
If you travel party contains 2 people, the place will be super convenient. If you are 3-4 people, then I could see being a bit crowded. Definitely possible, since the house has a pull out couch. Just something to consider.
Great little cottage
Nice and compact little cottage. Very clean and tidy. Bed was extremely comfortable. Lots of windows and cross breezes. Very responsive host. Would stay again!
Great Ocean Beach location
No better place to be if you are looking to enjoy Ocean Beach. 5 minute walk to main strip on Newport ave, 90 second walk to the beach. Very attentive host also. I would heartily recommend to any of my friends!
Palm trees line the streets of this historical Southern California community, and at 5080-86 Brighton Ave, you are just one block from the largest beach in Ocean Beach and everything this town has to offer.
If shopping is your way to relax, take a walk down Newport Avenue and browse through one unique shop after another offering jewelry, surfboards, shells, beads, boutiques, unusual resale treasures and antique stores. And the majority of merchants are residents, so expect to receive a friendly smile and good old-fashioned service.
A good reason for living in Ocean Beach is its casual, small-town charm with its diagonally parked cars along the main street of Newport Avenue. This centrally located three-block-long shopping district has much to offer—and has no parking meters!
