About Robert Teskey
A family of four now calls Hood River home, we are often found exploring SE Asia where we lived for four years, skiing on the mountain, hiking and biking the local trails with our dogs, or enjoying all that the Gorge has to offer. Robert does consulting to the sporting goods business mostly in Asia; Pamela is a teacher, artist, and activist; Sofie and Fiona are busy with their studies and enjoying dance, theatre, track, biking, skiing, cooking and golf besides. As Native Oregonians, Robert and Pamela believe that the Gorge is special in many way and we work to capture that essence at Dragonfly. We let our European heritage (German and Norwegian respectively) as well as our Asian experience influence our lives and enjoy the best that all cultures have to offer. Our Hood River place is home to two dogs and four cats with the canines enjoying frequent times at our Mosier cabin.
Robert Teskey purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Robert Teskey chose Wasco County
We bought this place during a 5 year expat stint in southern China as a place to get grounded during our annual summer homelike stays. It was "on our list" when we first moved back to Oregon in 2002 but felt too remote at the time for small children. Fast forward and we find ourselves often at "Dragonfly" as Robert uses it as an office space, Pamela for creating art and teaching classes, and the kids for various activities. Our family travels often and have seen much of the world, especially SE Asia. We enjoy the tranquility that Dragonfly has to offer our guests as comfortable place to getaway from it all, yet enjoy being close to Gorge's many luscious offerings.
What makes this Cabin unique
Dragonfly is the perfect place to getaway from city and stresses of life in general. Set on a seasonal creek and nestled in the woods, our place is a pleasant place to relax, do yoga, bbq, sip wine and dine with views of the pond and waterfall, or write the great American novel.

Secluded Gorge Getaway
We had a lovely stay here with our two dogs for a weekend getaway. The space was cozy and simple. It had everything we needed to relax, cook, read, and play board games. Our two dogs had a BLAST in the large, fully-fenced yard. Instructions were simple and clear.
Great cabin, secluded, hidden in beautiful nature
We loved our stay in this cabin. It was relaxing getaway for us. There is small river stream by the house. Wood stove in house had plenty of wood, thanks to owner. Living room has unique and thoughtful design with clear views, which was mesmerizing.
Also, house has WiFi connection.
Thank you Robert replying promptly to our queries.
We would definitely love to come back again in summer.
Cozy little home!
Wonderful little secluded home. This home is great for short getaways and is relatively close to Hiid River. We enjoyed our stay and was fun to have the stream next to the house.
Quite and immersed in nature
We loved our experience at this cabin. The sun room was wonderful to be in and watch the stars at night. The kitchen was big and welcoming to our love to cook. The only downside was trying to regulate the temperature in the shower/bath. We gave up and decided to go without during the trip as it was either scalding or freezing cold. Baths might be the best way to go here. The wood stove made to whole place warm and cozy and was grateful for the ample supply of wood they offered. And thank you for allowing our dogs!
Unique and charming!
We absolutely loved the cabin! The yard it's self was enough to keep our two young kids happy, and then once they discovered the rest of the land beyond the fence they were thrilled!
We were able to hike on the Mark O Hatfield trail, which was very close by. We saw deer near the creek! We will definitely be looking to stay again!
Quiet, Peaceful, Secluded Get-a-Away!
We enjoyed our second visit to the cabin. We hiked around the property, enjoyed the quiet work time, was able to get some quality family time without any distractions. The claw tub was loved by all, with a great addition of the Bluetooth speaker for our music devices!
The cabin is rustic, but in good repair. The overall cleanliness could use a little TLC. However, we enjoyed our time here and would return if available for needs!!
Nestled in the woods outside of Mosier (pop. 430), Dragonfly Retreat is the perfect spot for peaceful getaways yet still with close access to Hood River and all the activities of the scenic Columbia Gorge. World-class windsurfing and kiteboarding is only 2 miles away at Mosier Beach. The famous Twin Tunnels trail (paved) is 1.5 miles away with traffic free access to hiking, biking, skating, and other activities. The trail continues east of the trailhead as Highway 30, popular for cycling and sightseeing as it winds through the hills toward The Dalles. Hood River, 15 minutes away, has a variety of restaurants, wineries, brewpubs, as well as activities such as golf, tennis, swimming (pool), and shopping.
