Fantastic beach experience.
We parked and didn't have to use the car the entire time. Walk right onto the beach or to restaurants and stores. Wish I could have stayed longer. The property was clean and nice and had everything we needed. I honestly can't think of anything bad to say. The best part by far was being able to walk right through a locked gate onto the beach. Don't worry about hauling lunch down there because you can run back up the room whenever you want. Great place!
Great visit to the IOP!
This rental is a solid choice. The property manager went above and beyond, emailing me a couple of times to let me know about local happenings occurring during our visit. He was passing by when we were on the balcony and called up to ask if we were satisfied with everything so far. We mentioned the WiFi had been acting up; he checked on that and gave us several updates (it was a Comcast outage and it did get fixed). Check-in was super easy—they sent the door code before arrival. We had plenty of bath towels, but if you need more than 2 beach towels you may want to bring some of your own.
The unit is cute and seems to have been fairly recently remodeled. The bedroom has a foam type mattress (personally I’d prefer a firmer traditional mattress, but it was fine). The hallway bunks were great and were part of the reason we chose this unit (it basically turned a 1-bedroom into a 1.5 bedroom unit). Our teen son was quite comfortable in the bottom bunk; we liked this better than dealing with a sofa bed or having him sleep in the common room. The bunks seem to be a bit narrower than a twin, but seem to be long enough for an adult. The unit is cozy and compact, but had everything we needed. It's on the 3rd floor, which was fine for us, but if you have mobility issues this could be a problem; however, having the views and the quiet of an upper-level unit is pretty nice. We weren’t bothered by noise at any time during our stay, despite it being a busy holiday weekend.
Our visit was over the 4th of July weekend, which I suspect may be one of the busiest times of the year for the IOP. I wasn’t crazy about the craziness, but that’s our fault for choosing to come this particular weekend. The beach was packed, especially mid-day at high-tide when there was less beach to be had. I did like that we didn’t have to deal with the traffic, because there are restaurants, bars, and live music within walking distance. And the pool was a nice alternative when we got tired of the beach. The IOP fireworks are set off from the pier at the property--it was probably the best display and the best seats for fireworks I’ve ever experienced. If you’re coming to visit Charleston, the IOP is a great choice because you’re not far from all the attractions, but you also get a beach vacation too. I’m really glad we chose to stay here, we made some great memories!
This condo was perfect for our small get away to the beach! Very clean and had everything we needed! Great view from the balcony! The owner was very responsive and easy to deal with! He even took care of a bee’s nest while we were at dinner! This is our 3rd stay at Sea Cabins and it was the cleanest and nicest place we’ve stayed yet! Definitely recommend and hope to stay here again!
This property had a great location not only to the beach but to everything else! Thank you for a great and clean place to stay! I would stay again with my kids.
Perfect oceanfront get away
My husband and I enjoyed a quiet beach vacation staying at this condo. It was perfect for us! We enjoyed coffee on the deck while watching the ocean. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for our small meals in the room. We didn’t have to drive anywhere. We walked to several local restaurants and had great fish and seafood. The bedroom was comfy and cozy and we slept well after long days on the beach. We didn’t bring our children this time, but kept thinking how much they would have enjoyed the built in bunk beds in the hall. Loved our stay there. Thank you!
Comfy and surprisingly quiet
Our family enjoyed the ocean view and breeze from our 3rd floor balcony as much as we enjoyed being on the beach. We were pleasantly surprised at how family-oriented and quiet the property was. Property info on the vrbo app and in the binder provided by the owners in the condo was helpful and accurate. The only negative with the condo itself was the mattress on the pull out sofa. It, like most sofa bed mattresses, was very thin. Our 90-lb daughter could feel every spring and ended up sleeping in one of the oh-so-cute bunk beds. If you plan on using the sofa bed just bring an air mattress or a memory foam topper and you should be fine. The only shortcoming with the common areas of the property was the pool house bathrooms which were lacking in cleanliness and supplies. Would definitely stay in this condo again.
The Sea Cabins are located in the heart of the island called Front Beach. It is near beach shops, restaurants, nightclubs, and the County Park. It is just 3 miles from the Towne Center Mall and only 15 miles from downtown Charleston.
