About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8

The recently updated Muletail Lodge welcomes guests with all the best Tahoe amenities like a fireplace, balcony, closeness to trails and resorts, and beautiful views.

This home sits among three major California ski resorts, pleasant trails, Watson Creek, and quaint Carnelian Bay cafes and beaches, all while being in a quiet neighborhood.

At this recently updated home, you'll have modern must-haves like WiFi, cable and DVD on at least one of the two TVs, and a coffee bean grinder and espresso maker. There are also two adult bikes and one child bike to take for a spin on nearby trails.

In addition to the main floor's gorgeous gas fireplace and new hardwood floors, there's a newly renovated fully stocked kitchen any chef will adore as well as an expandable dining table. Also on this main floor you'll find a full bathroom and bedroom with a queen-size bed.

Upstairs are two more bedrooms - one with a queen and the other with a third queen bed as well as two twins. Plus, there's a pull-out sofa for an eighth guest.

Whatever the weather, you'll find tons to do less than 12 miles away. Pick your pleasure out of Northstar California, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley resorts. Just a few minutes away from the Muletail Lodge itself is the Old Post Office Coffee Shop and the Gar Woods Grill and Pier. Under seven miles away Crystal Bay in Nevada where lady luck just may be on your side.

Carnelian Bay is a prime location for any North Lake Tahoe vacation rental, and you'll want this lodge to be your next home base for your getaway!

About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Peaceful Restorative Location

 • 5 of 5

My childhood friend and I were finally able to get together for a few days and ended up at the perfect spot between Kings Beach and Tahoe City. We were able to relax in this beautiful house with the sounds of nature all around as we chatted on the outside deck. Muletail Lodge was the perfect location for us to have some quiet and restful time before getting back to our daily lives. Thank you so much!

Had some very nice rooms, as well as a comfortable amount of space.

A wonderful experience. It managed to fit about 3-4 families, and with a wonderful time at Christmas, it definitely is a recommended place best celebrated during December.

Peace & Quiet

 • 4 of 5

If you're looking for a little tranquility in the Tahoe area, this place delivers. The location is in a quiet neighborhood, where there's almost more traffic from runners/walkers/dogs than there is from cars. The interior is homey, a combination of some somewhat dated fixtures, with some contemporary lighting. The rooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms are in good working order, including the showers. The kitchen is very functional, with a full-sized fridge, electric range, dishwasher and microwave. All worked well, along with a coffee maker. One thing I suggested was a bigger frying pan, and the manager said they would take care of it.

The very large deck is absolutely terrific. We enjoyed early morning coffee, along with late-night star gazing. (The night sky is a bit occluded by the large trees surrounding the house.) It's such a nice place to sit and relax.

If I were to visit again, I would definitely check to see if this place was available.

Perfect little cabin in the woods!

 • 4 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed here for a week in June. We were all able to fit comfortably and spread out with each of us getting our own room. My only complaint was that the kitchen wasn't as well stocked as other homes we have stayed in. There was only 1 kitchen towel, 1 cutting board, and only BBQ tongs to grill with. Overall, we had an amazing stay. This cabin was a perfect location right in between Tahoe City and Kings Beach.
