About Barb O'Neill
We are Marquette natives we lived away while my husband was in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era, stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk. My husband is a retired carpenter and I retired from the City of Marquette along with owning my own business (Embroidery Wearhouse.) We are the proud parents of three daughters and two granddaughters. Our plan is to travel Europe and here in the US.
Barb O'Neill purchased this Apartment in 1989
Why Barb O'Neill chose Marquette Township
This home previously belonged to our grandparents. The home has been in the family since 1923. We purchased it in 1989 and lived in it while we built our house. The central location is convenient yet offers privacy within the City of Marquette. We generally walk to restaurants, bars, the Food Co-op, Lake Superior and Mattson Park. Mattson Park is where most of the festivals are held, it's easier to walk from the house then try to find a parking spot. Park Cemetery is located just to the north of the home, access is available straight up the hill, past the American Legion. This is a cemetery but it's also a park. Beautiful trees, ponds, ski trail and monuments, it's a peaceful place to take a walk, or a bike ride.
What makes this Apartment unique
The central location offers privacy yet you are still close to restaurants, bars and events. We love Marquette and all it has to offer, it's a relatively safe and friendly city.

Great location super nice place!
Great little place close to town! Walking distance from downtown. House was very clean and Recently redone! Great spot to stay, would definitely stay there again.
Third time renting!
Great place to stay! Always super clean and comfortable. We will rent it again, next time we are in Marquette.
Charming little house, very clean!
This house is so perfect with the location being so close to downtown, NMU and the lake! Very clean everything you need for your stay. This is my 2nd time staying here and I will definitely be back again! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Centrally located, close to NMU campus
My husband and I stayed here while we visited our son who is a student at NMU. We have two in college and are tired of hotels. We've used HomeAway for vacations but never thought of it for a quick weekend stay...I'm so glad we decided to! This home was perfect for us! It is very clean, up-to-date, and comfortable. I especially liked the bath & kitchen (although we did not cook, all the utensils were available). The location is within walking distance of the downtown area and there is a park right across the street. I would definitely like to stay here again...I am already thinking about our next trip up (although my son would rather I stay home!)
The property exceeded my expectations - Barb's & Bob's attention to details are immediately apparent when you walk-in - beautiful hardwood floor, first class appliances, beautifully tiled walk-in shower, top tier mattress, quartz counter tops -- all in all what you might find in an expensive, custom-built home. Great location that's quiet but just blacks away from downtown Marquette. I will definitely stay again.
P.S. Checked out the three bedroom unit out of curiosity and think most people will find that it's classier than their home.
Thank you for the outstanding review. We sincerely appreciate our guests and do our best to make it as comfortable as possible. Looking forward to your next visit!
