The view from the building is absolutely stunning. Our realtor said: "There are some apartments in Cuenca with nice views, but to get an entire view of the city and all the mountains surrounding it, this is it!"
What makes this Apartment unique
The apartment is on the north side of El Centro, about 15 minute walk uphill from the Cathedral, or 10 minute walk downhill, or about $1.50 to $2.00 taxi ride. Being on the north side and on the hill, one can escape the downtown congestion, the exhaust from the buses, and the noise (honking) from the cars.

Excellent condo, good value, safe neighbourhood and location.
This was a beautifully maintained and outfitted condo. It was clean, tastefully decorated, excellent cleaning supplies and equipment (or could hire someone to do so). Kitchen had an excellent assortment of dishes, cutlery, glasses, knives, pots & pans, etc. Located within relatively easy walking distance to the central square. Cabs were cheap and readily available if needed. The condo owner was responsive and helpful. He provided an excellent guidebook of resources, tips on things to see and do, nice restaurants, how to get around. Property Managers were superb - helpful, responsive and friendly. Could not ask for a nicer place to stay while in Cuenca.
Clean,modern, convenient apartment near old town with beautiful view.
The apartment was very nice and the kitchen is well equipped. I enjoyed reading in the office while friends watched tv in the livingroom area. The bedrooms are in rooms that face the street which can get busy from 6AM to 10PM. . .take earplugs. Only TV was in living room area. Modern plumbing was wonderful. Large washing machine and dryer was so convenient. The apartment is up on a hill providing a lovely view of the whole valley of Cuenca.
I recently stayed at the "Cuenca Vista" apartment for a 4-week visit. I can vouch for and concur with the positive comments and praise offered in previous reviews. Rather than simply repeat many of these positive comments, I will offer what I believe may be useful for others considering staying at this location in Cuenca.
First, Joe (the owner) was extremely helpful in preparing me with practical information about the location, the city, and the people of Cuenca. On all of my various inquiries, Joe promptly replied and provided me with answers to my questions.
Upon arrival, the apartment was extremely clean and ready for a tenant. It has everything necessary as a "second home", including full kitchen and cleaning supplies and equipment. The view from several windows in the unit may be one of the best vantage points in all of Cuenca. The building has a secure door at street level and a clean, functional elevator. The building is new relative to most in the city. The other tenants in the building were very quiet and there is little to no tenant related noise. The nearby streets, however are audible, especially in the early morning and at afternoon rush hour, but I did get accustomed to it within a day or two, but wish I had some earplugs which I could not find in the city. The surrounding area is residential and I felt safe at all hours inside and out of the building. Access to essential services (grocery stores, small shops, El Centro) is easily managed on foot. Most of the better restaurants are located closer to the city center. There is a formidable hill that leads up from El Centro to the building. Once I became more acclimated to the elevation, the hill became an excellent workout. Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive, as are the local buses for which there is a stop within 100 yards of the building. The apartment manager was extremely helpful upon my arrival and stayed in contact with me every few days to ensure my stay was going well. The apartment is spacious and would be very comfortable with a degree of privacy for 4 people. The internet service is very good, however my connection was noticeably poorer when I was in the bedroom area, furthest from the modem. The TV package is adequate, with English, Spanish and some music channels. There are a number of good DVD titles on hand.
I would highly recommend this property for your Cuenca visit. You will not be disappointed. My stay was a very rewarding experience on every level.
Great 2-Bdrm Modern Apartment in Great Location!
Our apartment rental from Joe, accompanied by the managing neighbors, Danica & Ron, was PERFECT and exactly as presented online, if not better. We rented for a month's escape and were very happy here, and in a safe neighborhood. This 3-yr. old condo apartment had all amenities we needed, great water pressure and washer & dryer, 2 large bedrooms & baths, plus a study, open spaces of a Living, Dining and Kitchen, good WiFi and cable TV. The walk to El Centro and Park Calderon was straight down the Luis Cordero Av. hill, less than a mile, and easy to walk anyplace and take a cab home (or walk up a steep hill the last 4 blocks). Danica & Ron made a huge, hospitable contribution to our orientation, suggestions, with occasional visits to see if all was OK, and we enjoyed their company. We decided to have a second bedroom in case we had guests visit; if that space isn't needed, one can probably rent for a smaller, 1-Bdrm place, perhaps even closer to town. Communication with Joe was easy, and along the way, he provided a lot of info to help planning our trip.

At home In Cuenca
We chose this appartement In Cuenca to feel at home in familiar surroundings for a week and to rest after a month of traveling in Peru.
Joe's apartment delivered beautifully. The apartment has a clean new feel with beautiful tile under foot and supersized windows overlooking the town, the kitchen is large and has everything you need to cook. Washing machine, dryer and dishwasher were so welcome! The bedrooms are light and airy and the beds very comfortable. Bathrooms are new and well equipped. Communication with the owner is really easy and Joe sends timely emails with all kinds of welcome information about the apartment, the town, the restaurants, things to do,etc...
The on site managers, Ron and Danica were also very helpful. We walked to everything in Manta. The center of the city is 10mn or less down the street and 15mn coming back because it is hilly. A taxi from the airport is $3. We went hiking to beautiful Cajas National Park with a guide from Terra Diversa. Don't miss it! We found many little restaurants for lunch in town that were very good and where people were friendly even with us not speaking Spanish.
All in all, this apartment provided us with a great base to explore Cuenca in North American comfort!
