About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6 (6 adults)

Waterfront views, island privacy, and lush evergreen trees as far as the eye can see make this two-bedroom Nordland vacation home exactly the place you've been looking for.

Located on Marrowstone Island, one of the most beautiful islands in the Puget Sound, this home offers plenty of peace and seclusion without sacrificing the convenience of being only three miles away from the farmers market, vineyards, and art galleries in town. Interested in taking a day trip to see the big city? No problem: ferries are available from nearby Bainbridge Island for those who would like to venture out and explore Seattle (about 50 miles away).

This home sits on 10 acres of land, full of the old-growth evergreens that make Washington one of the most beautiful places on earth. Walk into the living room and take in one of this home's most exceptional features: huge floor-to-ceiling cathedral windows that flood the entire house with light.

Let your friends sit in the three bar stools to keep you company while you cook up something delicious in the fully outfitted kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and a modern tile backsplash.

Eat lunch in the adjacent dining area, or venture outside to the lovely wrap-around porch to barbecue on the gas grill, sit around the glass-topped outdoor table, and take in scenic views of Puget Sound. Have someone push you on the charming wooden swing set and later in the evening you can enjoy the sunset.

Two bedrooms, a futon couch, and two full bathrooms will accommodate up to six.

Five kayaks make staying in this home a truly unique opportunity for adventure. Safety first: put on one of the included life jackets and get out on the sparkling, wildlife-filled water to explore the region's natural beauty.

This scenic home is perfect for a couples' getaway, a family retreat, or just simply a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Only about 14 miles east of Port Townsend and 50 miles away from Seattle, this vacation rental is exceptionally located, offering all of the seclusion and privacy you need without sacrificing easy access to the city.

Whether you choose to adventure out on the water in kayaks or stay at home by the river rock fireplace, this lovely waterfront home is the perfect getaway.

About Vacasa of San Juans and Puget Sound

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wifes family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental managementthings like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great location and great house

 • 4 of 5

Overall we love it. The house is beautifully designed. We like the big windows in the living room, the big lawn, apple trees and the sea shore. The decorations inside and out are spectacular. However, the management of the house is very bad. First, they’re not responsive. Prior to the booking, I tried to ask a few simple questions, such as whether the previous maintenance issues have been fixed, but got no response after three requests. After arriving in the house, the lights in the master bathroom were not working and the air conditioner only had hot air. I tried to call them (vacasa) a couple of times, and no one answered the phone even on Monday morning. It often run out of hot water. The bed in master bedroom is in a bad shape.........

Despite all those issues, we like this house and the stay, and hope Vacasa could improve their service.

Stepping Up

 • 5 of 5

Talk about turning lemons into lemonade, Vacasa certainly stepped up. Arrived at 4 to check in and home was not serviced. Called management co. and they delivered in spades. Quite honestly, it is difficult to be upset in such beautiful environs. Kayaking, lounging at beach, relaxing on porch watching deer graze in the yard with eagles soaring overhead. Everything we could only imagine. Superb location, comfortable home, and a view worthy of a postcard. We shall return!

Peaceful Solitute

 • 5 of 5

The property was so beautiful. We sat on the porch everyday and just soaked in the view of Rainier, the sound and the surrounding islands. It was great to have the kayaks to use and explore the waters around the island. The kitchen had everything for cooking great meals and the supermarket was just a short drive from the house so easy to restock. The house was decorated nicely but could use a little larger dining table, we fit 5 but if we had a 6th person, I don't think there was another chair and it was tight. Although there were videos to watch on the TV we would have preferred to have the ability to watch the local news and our regular evening TV options. These two minor dislikes would not keep us from visiting the property again in the future but would just make it even better.

Secluded, quiet home with lots of windows

 • 4 of 5

Looking out the back windows and seeing a large pod of whales heading north. The clear day when we could see MT. Rainer.

Gorgeous view, peaceful setting, lovely home, minor issues

 • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here. It was a great home and location for 4 adults and 2 young children. Very quiet, spacious, and peaceful on the island, but only about 25 minutes to Port Townsend where we embarked on an exciting whale watching tour and took care of the major grocery shopping. We were fortunate to get some lovely weather and enjoyed views from inside the home and from the large deck: ocean, mountains, deer, coyotes, and even a bald eagle......it started pouring rain an hour before we checked out! We took advantage of the kayaks in the garage and were able to paddle around the island a bit, where we enjoyed up close encounters with sea lions, otters, and birds. It would have been absolutely perfect if not for a couple of issues. First, the lights all went out in the master bathroom on our second evening there. The fan still worked, we tried the breaker, etc. but no luck. Unfortunately, even after two calls to Vacasa customer service, nobody came to investigate the situation so we basically were left with only one bathroom for two out of our three-night stay. But....we're all family and were okay sharing the "intimate" space. Also, the hot water spigot on the counter top does not work. Not a big deal, but I think visitors should be made aware of that fact....especially because it appears to leak under the counter if you do try to use it. We discovered a container full of water under the sink that was undoubtedly placed there to catch this leak. However, we had such an amazing time on this trip overall that we left highly satisfied and would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely

 • 5 of 5

The home is clean. Our favorite part was kayaking. The view is gorgeous and the cupboard is well stocked with books and games. We enjoyed riding our bikes to the winery near by for live music and a camp fire. WiFi Signal is weak and some had no phone service. That’s ok! Better to leave it behind and enjoy a getaway!
