Wonderful week on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

Family converged for a week from the Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, and Trenton NJ areas to this cozy cabin overlooking Lake Huron. The deck on the bluff was huge with lots of comfortable seating - we spent most of our time there. 6-burner propane grille was available on the deck, and a fire ring down next to the waterfront. A long set of steps from the main deck (with a second deck 1/3 way down) led down to a 3rd deck right on the water, which had a sandy bottom and shallow enough for kids to at least 50' out. The dining area air conditioner kept the 3 bedrooms on the main level comfortable in the couple of muggy evenings we had. A couple of us slept on the porch listening to the waves breaking. Bedding was all soft and comfortable. It was nice to have the washer/ dryer available. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, and the big fridge/ freezer held all we needed. Plenty of parking for the group. No WiFi (as mentioned in the listing) nor cell coverage, for ATT/ Cricket nor TMobile/MetroPCS. Had to go to Lexington (3 mi) for connections. We worked around the connectivity, and thoroughly enjoyed the many places to sit/ relax in the cabin and on the three deck levels overlooking the Lake. Lots of local restaurants (Wimpys for good burgers/ breakfast... an experience...;-), and good shopping at Willis' (Port Sanilac) or Jeff's (Lexington). Loved it!

Beautiful waterfront view

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is very cute, it’s decorated in a beach theme. The back deck is wonderful and the view is spectacular. The furniture was all very comfortable and bed sheets and blankets nice quality. The However, the property is not maintained very well. The house needs a good cleaning. When we arrived I ended up at the store to purchase cleaning supplies and a mop. Not what I wanted to be doing on my first day of vacation. The stairs to the water were so over grown with weeds that we had a hard time making it down. The last 10 steps had no railing and are steep. When you get to bottom of steps there is a deck and sea wall. The deck area was so over grown with weeds that we could not access the fire pit and chairs. Also there was no beach area.Maybe because of high water levels. This home could easily become a five star with some cleaning and badly needed maintenance.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review and I am happy that you have enjoyed the cabin and found it to be very cute and comfortable. It is a great location and the views are great! Especially in the early am to see the sun rise and also in the evening to see the sun go down. This is a prime location and the water views are spectacular which we know our guests have returned every year because of the views and expanded decking. The lower deck and ambitious greenery growth has been trimmed. We do wish you had reached us to correct any cleaning concerns. Had we been contacted and given the opportunity, we would have sent the cleaning company back until it met your standards and corrected any areas that you needed to ensure a comfortable and work free first day! We really appreciate your feedback and wish you a great summer!

Pricey for what you get.

  • 2 of 5

Good location and beautiful tippy deck, but the cottage was quite dirty. The floor and area rug had not been properly cleaned and the couches had a lot of sand on the surfaces. There were a lot of missing and burned out light bulbs. There was a broken screen door when we arrived and a large pile of beer bottles but someone came to clean then up the second day. For the amount we paid for two nights, I don't think it was worth the money.

Everything we expected and more!

  • 5 of 5

What an absolutely fantastic place to stay!

A few of my friends and I stayed here for a weekend and it was exactly what we needed.

Plenty of beds, the deck is enormous and comfortable, very clean and cozy, and the fire pit down by the water was just more than we could have asked for!

I would highly recommend this wonderful cabin for couples or small groups for a perfect getaway.

Love this beach cabin

  • 5 of 5

Went here for a girls weekend and just fell in love with this place. The decor is absolutely amazing and totally gets you in the vacation/beach mood. The deck is huge and has tons of seating. There are 2 rooms with double beds, a room with 4 bunks and a loft with 2 beds. Plus a bunch of couches so there is plenty of sleeping for your entire group. The views you wake up to are amazing. The fire pit is down a bunch of steps on a deck right on the water. We had plenty of parking and we were 5 mins north of the town of Lexington. Denise is a so easy to work with. I really can't wait to head aback and stay here again!!

Most relaxing stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I needed a little getaway to decompress and to just get away. We had such a relaxing time that we did not want to leave. The photos do not do this place justice. Impeccably decorated with a nautical theme carried throughout, down to every last detail. Denise was easy to work with and it was so great to be able to bring our little shih tzu to such a beautiful place. The beds weren't the comfiest but we fell asleep to the sound of the lake crashing ashore. So sad to go but I'm sure we'll be back. I absolutely loved the fact that there was no wifi. It allowed us to truly relax. Such a great weekend getaway. Thank you!
