There is plenty to do including games, walks, boating, swimming, golf and more. Just a few blocks from tennis courts, a playground and a swimming hole on Lake Florence, there is something for everyone to do.
Anderson Island is the southernmost of Puget Sound's islands. It is a small wooded island encircled by 14 miles of beachfront. It contains two freshwater lakes. Located just a 20-minute ferry ride from Steilacoom, Anderson Island maintains a rural feel. It is not uncommon to see deer or raccoons in the yard, eagles in the trees and beavers in the lake. Anderson Island is known for its Huckleberry season--wild plants abound throughout the Island.
The house is a 2000+ square foot A-frame ideally located. You can easily walk to the general store, coffee shop and the golf course and the restaurant. It has a loft with a king bed and a full bath. On the main floor are 2 bedrooms (one with 2 twins and the other with a queen bed), open living area with the kitchen, dining room and living room, a stone fireplace, and a full bath. The basement has a third full bath and a large common area, laundry facilities, mud room and a wood stove. All linens provided. Well stocked kitchen.
Lake Josephine is a quiet lake. Motor boats are not allowed, but water skiing is allowed on nearby Lake Florence. Electric motors (no more than 5 miles/hour) can be used on Lake Josephine, but it is mostly used for canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking and row boats. There is a paddle boat, canoe and row boat on the property
