Perfect Location for Sibling Gathering

  • 5 of 5

Our 16 person (ages 4 - 65) group had a difficult time during the planning sessions to refine our wants and dates for a long overdue reunion so it was with some trepidation that we arrived at Chasing Rainbows...would it meet our expectations/needs? The answer is a resounding YES! There was plenty of space for being together and apart. The property is lovely and Helton Creek has some amazing hidden spots. Fisherman's delight and many rainbows were chased! Even our trips to Lansing for groceries and to the dump were entertaining. The facilities were perfect for our group - having two full kitchens and laundries was invaluable! The luxury of a whirlpool tub was appreciated and there were no complaints about the beds. And while it was raining for half the time, we enjoyed the awesome porch with jam sessions going into the night. (We enjoyed the firepit on our only dry evening.) Discussions are underway for a return. Thank you for making your home available!

Nice place on the creek and just a couple of minutes from Grayson Highlands.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Chasing Rainbows. Nice trout stream on the property with plenty of rainbows. Went fishing for 30 minutes and caught 3 trout. Larger house was nice and clean. Only down side was no AC. Being in the mountains it's unusual that you'd need AC but temperatures were in the 90's. We weren't in the house much during the day so it wasn't an issue. Nice to let our dog roam and play in the creek. The house is off the road a ways so it was relatively quiet. We'd stay there again. Good location just a short drive to Grayson Highlands. About 45 minutes to 1 hour drive to Marion and Damascus.

Great Fall weekend

  • 5 of 5

Second fall we have come here. We love this place. Thanks for letting us share it.

One little problem: the gas stove in the cabin did not seem to work.. Is it out of propane?

Other than than we were warm and toasty on this first weekend of cold weather.

Peaceful

Wonderful setting. My parents and I enjoyed a very relaxing stay. The sound of water was great and the house well appointed. Our dog loved the big yard and the stream!! Rode the Virginia Creeper and enjoyed Grayson Highlands State Park which were close by.

Great space. Beautiful property. Great for groups.

  • 5 of 5

I rented Chasing Rainbows so that a group of hikers could get together and do a couple of day hikes. We do pot luck dinners and the space was perfect for that. Lots of beds!
