Great Fall weekend
Second fall we have come here. We love this place. Thanks for letting us share it.
One little problem: the gas stove in the cabin did not seem to work.. Is it out of propane?
Other than than we were warm and toasty on this first weekend of cold weather.
Wonderful setting. My parents and I enjoyed a very relaxing stay. The sound of water was great and the house well appointed. Our dog loved the big yard and the stream!! Rode the Virginia Creeper and enjoyed Grayson Highlands State Park which were close by.
Great space. Beautiful property. Great for groups.
I rented Chasing Rainbows so that a group of hikers could get together and do a couple of day hikes. We do pot luck dinners and the space was perfect for that. Lots of beds!
Lovely setting, well equipped accommodations, no live TV, great free flowing trout stream.
Streaming services and wi-fi are on site. Definitely a place to return to for getting reacquainted with serenity. Overall, a first-rate and lovely experience.
Quiet, secluded, peaceful
Our multi-generational family of 14 plus dogs had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy this wonderful property. The river/stream was a constant soothing sound...and was great for creek-walking too. The houses are fitted out well. During our week, the only thing we didn't have was cell phone coverage. The decks were our favorite hang out places. Our dogs were able (by adding a gate across the bridge) to run fairly freely about the property, and LOVED the creek as well. For those needing phone access for a quick office meeting, the voip phone was a plus. Internet was a bit slow...but its to be expected for such a remote location. All in all, a wonderful vacation. We definitely plan on making a return.
Amazing weekend. Idyllic spot.
Large house easily accommodated our very large group- some of us camped down by the creek. Well equipped and clean house- very close to Grayson Highlands and the Virginia Creeper Trail
Virginia Creeper Trail (beautiful rails to trails bike run, all downhill), hike the Appalachian Trail, Bluegrass festivals & jam sessions, fly fishing, Maple syrup festival, choose your own Christmas Tree, pumpkin patches, see the historic John Long frescoes, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, hike up to see the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands, kayak on the New River (one of the oldest rivers int he world , like the Nile, it runs north instead of south), horse-back riding trails all around. Enjoy local maple syrup, trout, and artisan cheese from Ashe County Cheese.
