About John Paul Jones and Heather Harrington Jones
Heather and John-Paul moved to Barbados from Canada in 1983. This is our first and only home on the island and we have loved living here and raising our two sons in Barbados over the past 35 years. JP is now retired ex-banker while Heather owns and operates a luxury jewellery store. We love to travel to exotic locations and enjoy epic adventures with our friends. We are sailors, skiers, motorcyclists, scuba divers and bon vivants. We look forward spending some time getting to know our guests and have had many wonderful experiences with visitors to Tantalus over the years.

Why John Paul Jones and Heather Harrington Jones chose Brighton
When coming to the Caribbean and choosing to live on an island, we always felt it was important to be on the beach. We feel blessed to have bought this property so many years ago as there are so few beach properties available and with the development Barbados has seen over the past few decades, they are becoming more built out and expensive. We are very happy to have made this purchase so long ago! It has been enjoyed by loads of relatives and friends who have come to visit us and it is so easy when you have the beach and pool right on your doorstep to entertain everyone. We get a lot of serenity here just watching the changes in the ocean and all the flora and fauna around us. Nothing like a good beach walk in the morning to set your day up right. The sunsets can be superb and there are numerous spots on the property to relax on and enjoy a quiet time or share with your favorite people.
What makes this House unique
Heather is a gourmet cook and the kitchen is a reflection of her love for entertaining. The house enjoys good breezes throughout the winter months so very little need for air conditioning, but it is always available. We have a nice selection of hammocks and beach loungers, you will certainly find your own special spot.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
My Family and I had an amazing time! Tantalus is such a beautiful property and fit my large group very comfortably. JP was very accommodating and responsive. The staff at Tantalus were super helpful and very friendly. The property is very much like the pictures with a great balcony view of the beach from the master bedroom. At the end there was some water issues on our side of the island but JP was very proactive in finding us additional accommodations while the water issues were being resolved. If we ever go back to Barbados, I can't imagine staying anywhere else.
Tantalus was a wonderful vacation spot for our group of 9 adults. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the house was a wonderful combination of indoor and outdoor space. JP was very helpful and easy to work with. His staff was very accommodating and helped with transportation, and all our various questions. We hope to return to this fabulous spot again soon.
Fabulous location, fabulous hosts, fabulous week.
My family’s weeklong stay at Tantalus was wonderful. From initial communication all the way through departure, JP and Heather were 100% communicative and accommodating, taking extra steps to help set us up for a successful week with our toddler son.
The house itself is gorgeous and the views divine. A fully equipped kitchen and house layout left us feeling at home. The terrace made for perfect long and lazy afternoons and relaxed evenings. The house’s beachfront location is divine. The beach itself is wonderfully peaceful. There are seaside food and drinks to be had at restaurants in walking distance in either direction. I should mention too here that Shelley, on JP and Heather’s staff, makes a wonderful fish curry if you arrange with her ahead of time.
I highly recommend JP and Heather’s home and would return in a heartbeat.
Thanks for the compliments, Kristin. We really enjoyed your visit! It’s always great to see people unwind and really enjoy the relaxed Caribbean lifestyle. We know you and your family will be back to make some more great memories!
Luxury catamaran cruises are really something most people do when in Barbados. Also, taking a day to do a circle the island tour with historical and scenic stops is well worth while. Charter a private van (up to 14 people) to get you to the best spots.
