About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Excellent family-friendly condo on the lake shore.

We had a very comfortable stay at this condo. The house is very well furnished and has great views all around. The kitchen was well-stocked will everything. Kids could just play in the snow on the second-level deck. The covered carport came in handy in the snow. We will definitely come back again in the summer to enjoy this house.

Great location for a great price!

  • 5 of 5

The house was in a great location for all the good restaurants around the west and north shores, and is a quick drive to Sand Harbor. The house was clean, spacious, and it was nice to have a fireplace. The (steep) walk down to the small private beach was quaint and peaceful and there was a nice bench to sit and listen to the waves. There is an ironing board and iron and hair dryer (I couldn't find these listed). The sauna was locked and closed the whole time we were there (Oct). We enjoyed our stay and would come back!

tahoe city condo

It was a great location, perfect condo for a family with kids...although there were some cobwebs here and there and outside patio furniture was very dirty. We were happy with the condo yet they could improve on their cleaning.

Wish I could give this a lower rating - 1 star is too generous

My family and I arrived after a 9 hour road trip to find this property completely filthy. There was urine on the toilets, rotted food in the refrigerator, dirty kitchen, torn fabric on the dining room chair, unmade beds, stains on the carpet, and the list goes on. To make matters worse, there appeared to be parties going on throughout the complex with drunken people yelling very loudly. Also, the advert seems to leave the impression that this is lake front. It most definitely is NOT, although you can see a sliver of the lake beyond the condos across the street.

When I reached out to Vacasa (the management company who leases this property), I spoke with a young man who was quite condescending. After a few calls in which I expressed my serious displeasure (and after speaking with multiple reps who failed to get back with me after they indicated they were looking for a cleaning crew or local management), I was contacted by a supervisor. I was told that the cleaning crew "might" be able to get to the property around midnight (it was past 10 PM when this offer was made), or they would be willing to refund my rent for this day. Having been on the road all day I was not in the mood for either option. I wanted my family out of this hell hole.

The supervisor ultimately offered a home about a mile away. She was kind enough to let me know that I would normally be charged a significantly higher price for the 2nd rental, but since I had been on the phone for 2 hours trying to resolve this issue, they would provide the 2nd home for the price of the condo. The 2nd home, while a step up from the toilet we were leaving, appeared to be built and decorated in the late 70's, and not many updates had occurred since. The closet doors in the master were falling off their tracks and the decks needed serious maintenance.

I've been renting properties with VRBO for over 15 years, all over the globe, with 7 rentals in the past 6 months and another next week. This is easily the WORST experience I've ever had renting a property through VRBO or Homeaway.

DO NOT RENT ANY PROPERTIES FROM VACASA - if you care for your money or your family that is.

Nice but uncomfortable

  • 2 of 5

Unit itself was nice. Roomy and has a nice deck. The view of the water is very narrow. Private beach difficult to access and very small. There was no map of the property in the unit so it was not easy to find things. Found out at the end of second day by chance that there is a property map posted near the office. Biggest problem was air conditioning wasn't working. Unit was very warm and stale upon entry. Wasn't never comfortable the two nights we were there. It was hot outside. I would not stay at this unit again.
