About Sheila Riso
The Riso's, are from New Orleans LA. and like many NOLA residents , my grandfather Dominic Riso had an old fashioned camp on the beach in Pass Christian in the 50's ... I grew up hearing stories about the coast and my fathers years at Gulf Coast Military Academy so, I guess I have my Grandfathers Gulf Coast fever and have planned for years to move to the Coast. I purchased this property in Bay St Louis August 2013 and completed renovations May 2015 keeping as much of the old charm as I could while adding the new. I love Bay St Louis and am sure you will too!
Sheila Riso purchased this House in 2013
Why Sheila Riso chose Bay Saint Louis
I purchased t this property because I love older homes and Pink Heron was built in 1938. It has beautiful patina hard wood floors and the original charm of that period construction. It is a typical American House with 9ft ceilings, crown molding and solid tight construction. It's raised on Piers and did not flood or sustain any damage during Katrina or any other storm. I have renovated many homes and this is my favorite by far!
What makes this House unique
Pink Heron Cottages was built by and for a local family here in the Bay. They were a large family with many children. Back in the day - children shared rooms and the largest room would be the Dining Room where all the family would meet every evening. That room now houses a bedroom in Unit 1. While searching for the right property I was in many homes. I knew this was the right place as soon as I entered. It is almost as if - one can feel the liveliness of a large family with children running through to get to the extra large back yard! I knew this was how the locals did it - and that was what I wanted to experience. So come to the Bay and stay with us - you'll hate to leave and want to come back!

We were very pleasantly surprised how very nice it.
Everything was available as advertised and owner was very pleasant and hospitable.
A 5-star experience all the way. Sheila is a wonderful, gracious and responsive hostess. The "owner's unit" is elegant yet comfortable.
Bay St. Louis is full of friendly, warm and interesting people, has a cute downtownwith great seafood and quick access to the Gulf Coast Hwy to explore neighboring communities. And it's only 1 hour to New Orleans. We're delighted we discovered this gem!
Shabby Chic!! Belongs in a magazine. More taste and comfort than my own home
Efficient charm and loving ambiance decor. great location. Very private setting. Should have stayed a month instead of a week. Tastefully inexpensive. We drove from St Louis to this perfect haven in Bay St Louis. Rode bikes everyday all over town for everything. Walked too as all is within a few blocks. A very quiet yet happening place. Fell in love with owner Sheila. She is creativity personified. No detail spared on her watch. That's it. I'm still enamored with my vacation experience. Can't wait to return. Home away from home and affordable, more than most. God bless Sheila and the folks at the Bay

We had great time staying in this rental. Most relaxing vacation we've ever had. Would definitely stay again. This property was perfect driving distance from New Orleans to Florida and gives a great variety of things to do. The owner makes you fell like it's your own home.
