Very rustic

  • 3 of 5

We knew this would be rustic but we have pets so options were few. The house itself it okay for size and amenities but with the new carpet and the 15 Glade plug-ins that were there when we arrived, we were bombarded with fumes that to us were very toxic. We pulled all the plug-ins and opened all the windows but the smell never really dissipated. The upper bathroom also seems to have a mold issue under the toilet that you can't get into and clean. We spent first 2 days cleaning out cabinets in kitchen to remove the roach droppings before we could put our food in. We were there for 3 full months and for the most part, we were comfortable despite the assault on our noses and possibly breathing mold for the whole time. Air conditioner worked okay. We had 5 days of below freezing so even with the space heaters, we were chilly during the cold snap. Wi-fi went out a couple times for short periods and the TV service shut down 2 days before we left. While we had no issues, we felt a little insecure with the windows that don't lock and the insecure door so I would not recommend leaving anything in the house you could not afford to lose. All in all, it was adequate for our needs but with the smells in the house, I could not stay again.

It is a Hunter's style lodge

  • 4 of 5

I loved it. Now I will preface that with "it's not for everyone". If bugs and natural wildlife give you a scare - this place is not for you. I was a single - but the cabin has a double in a room, a single in a room, 2 singles in a very large main room, and a pull out couch - that's a lot of space. I could think of nothing better for a family wanting to visit the Ocala National forest and the many springs in the area than a stay here. A word of advice - Check out the owner's page and make sure you print out the wifi, garbage, and all of the info before venturing into the forest - because once you do - no cell phone, Ha!

Memorial Day Weekend

  • 4 of 5

This was our second stay at the property and we enjoyed just as much. It was great having a private and quiet place to come back from to relax as the Springs were no doubt busy.

Quaint getaway

  • 4 of 5

We are locals to Central Florida and enjoy finding weekend getaways. We had expected our oldest son and his friend to join us, but with a last minute change of plans it was my husband, myself and our two younger boys. It would have provided more than enough space if the entire party planned had come. We were more than comfortable inside and out. Plenty of privacy for our Salt Springs weekend. The house was completely stocked with everything that we needed. Other than the minor cosmetic details, we were comfortable our entire stay and would recommend this location. We appreciate the owners for opening up their space and would surely come back again!

Lots of room and great location to salt springs!

  • 4 of 5

Loved the white rabbit outside. Was well stocked and had lots of room. Thanks for everything. Would definitely go back again if the price was right. A little high but I think that's because of spring break. Great location to salt springs.
