About Jeff & Susan Hartnett
We have been married for almost 40 years and have lived in Portland since 1982, having migrated from Chicago. We are very proud of our collaboration in planning and building a well designed, highly livable, site sensitive infill project we call Graham Street Commons. We have lived on NE Graham Street since 1988. The first house we bought - 28 NE Graham - was a 1900 cottage in need of much work. Over the years, we completely rehabbed the original house, subdivided what was originally two lots into fours and built three other houses on the site. The most recent one - 44 NE Graham - is a duplex; we moved into the front unit in Dec 2014 and opened the short term rental unit in June 2015. In our free time, we like to camp, hike, cook and eat, do crossword puzzles and enjoy all the northwest has to offer!

Nice and clean! Everything we needed was there.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Portland for vacation. It was close to everything we needed in the city. Not to mention the unit was very clean and modern. Simple but nice and tidy! 10 out of 10 for sure.
Nice Weekend Getaway!
The suite was spacious and comfortable. The lights weren't working when we arrived but Jeff was home and came and fixed it immediately. It had everything we required and we enjoyed our two nights. The shower was awesome with soft plush towels to follow! It is a basement suite so you can hear some noise above. It is well situated to everything we were interested in seeing and doing and we would stay here again. We walked to the Moda Center and took transit downtown to avoid parking. Street parking at the suite was easy!
Sweet 16 Success for Sporting Events!
My daughter and I enjoyed an exceptional weekend staying so close to the Moda Center. We don't mind walking and the trip only took about 15 minutes. We even came home in-between basketball sessions. The bus is super close if you prefer transportation and don't mind waiting. Great restaurants are also close by (Russell Street BBQ and Izakaya Kichinto) for evening dinner walks. Imagine our surprise to find the NIKE OUTLET (2650 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd) two blocks away when we took a different route towards the Moda Center. Black Friday sales made the experience even more exciting. The unit is super clean, tidy and modern. We loved the heated floors and the overhead heater fan in the bathroom. The closet in the bathroom allowed us to unpack and easily access clothing items. While we didn't cook, this option is available in a well stocked mini kitchen with a microwave and toaster oven. The bed was a bit tight given we are both 6 feet tall but we managed. Access to wifi and numerous channels offered onsite entertainment. I fear we will be unable to rent the place in the future given it may be booked with other travelers. Jeff and Susan are exceptional hosts offering almost immediate responses to texts while offering privacy within the unit. The next time we are in Portland, we hope this unit is available.
Exactly as advertised, efficient process and execution
The studio was clean and tidy in a nice neighborhood. The owners were responsive and helpful. While it was a partial basement apt. the available windows gave quite a bit of light and the setup was very comfortable. The avail. coffee and creamer were a nice surprise. My wife especially liked that it appeared new and modern. My only nit would be that I would've put more insulation between the ceiling and the floor in the unit above as I am a very light sleeper. The bed, while only a double, was very comfortable.
Thanks for the review. USA bed size to be rated "standard" or "double" size is 54" x 74" the bed in this unit is 60" x 80" and is rated "queen" size.
Very clean, well maintained and a great value!
Everything was great, first experience using HomeAway, and this was a great first experience. Property manager was a very nice guy and easy to communicate with. If we visit Portland again we will stay here again.
Nice little studio
Studio apartment provided convenient base for a short visit to Portland. No stove or oven if you wanted to cook, but the microwave and toaster oven were enough for me, and there is a BBQ in the small patio.
The bed was comfortable. The Direct TV setup has thousands of channels, but most are not free (I think).
The bathroom was dim; I suspect the overhead bulb needs to be changed soon. That was the only negative thing about the place.
I would come back.
