perfect lake vacation!
This cabin is reminiscent of our 1950s cabin on Lake Lanier growing up. It has been added to and modernized without losing the 50s lake charm, right down to the wind up spring on the screen door causing that lovely slam behind you as you rush down to the lake. We had a fabulous time and appreciated all the amenities, including the proximity to marinas for boat rentals. The kitchen is small but very high end and has such a beautiful view that it makes you linger; the screened porch is inviting, the sitting and dining areas are comfortable for a large group (we had 7) and the beds are very comfy! The only thing I would suggest is to add a few basics like bar soap and salt and pepper; otherwise we were fully prepared. There are several Ingles stores very close by to pick up more provisions.
Adorable Lake House
My family and I spent a week And enjoyed every minute. The drive in I got a little anxious of the area but it ended up being great and very quiet with sweet neighbors. The driveway is very steep so you do have to make sure you back in (especially SUV's or trucks). We rented a party barge and paddle board for 2 days and it was worth the money. The lake is absolutely beautiful and clean! The house is so cute and homey. It is beautifully decorated and makes you feel like you are in the original old lake cabin. The room
With the queen bed is very small. We were planning on putting 2 pack in plays in there but not even one would fit. But it all worked out after we did some room swaps. The kitchen is small but flows perfectly. I've always loved large kitchens but this small one worked great. There is a ton of windows that make you feel like you are outside. The screen porch is the perfect place for coffee and every meal. We spent most of our time there is we werent in the lake. The walk to the lake is easy. We had geese and a few ducks visit us daily. (The kids and myself LOVED feeding them). We will definitely make another trip soon.
Fantastic house with guest cottage!
What a great little house. The pictures don't do it justice. Three nice size bedrooms in main house. Two bathrooms. We closed off the bathroom that is joined to the master bedroom and let guests share the other bathroom. Both are full bathrooms. The bedroom with the bunk beds has a great view of the lake. The kitchen is adorable and very country chic. The screened in porch with tin roof was to die for during a rain storm and to watch the squirrels, birds and hummingbirds play. Nice view of the lake. Slightly blocked during this time of the year. Property has a totally separate guest house that's completely private with full bathroom. It is not ideal to share with others - especially strangers as the futon is right next to the bed and the couch is not separated by a door or a sleeper sofa. The cottage was perfect for our elderly parents who didn't want to stay up all night with us. There is a laundry room we never even looked at, a nice gas grill, plenty of clean outdoor seating at the backyard and the dock, and a picnic table on the dock. One of the best qualities to me was plenty of hooks to hang wet towels and suits inside the house. Very nice touch. There is a separate game room complete with many games and books to read if interested. We have no complaints!!!! Beds were comfy, duvet covers and sheets were great quality and towels were nice and fresh. Plenty of kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans and extras. You'll love it!! I will say the house is a tad dark. There are plenty of lights though except in the game room - we recommend a lit ceiling fan in that room. Other than that - FANTASTIC!! And the management company was A+!!
Long Hollow cottage is in a great location and the charm of the place is very rustic. My only complaint is a biggie. We checked in and the place was 86 degrees inside. The thermostat was broken and once we were able to identify and fix the problem it took 12 hours to cool to 76 degrees. The bedrooms are remote so the air flow to some of them is low thus we sweat the 1st night out. After that the rest of the stay was very enjoyable as Lake Lanier is amazing! We found several dead cockroaches scattered inside also. Other than that the cottage is warm and cozy but the cooling can be an issue in the summer. I was disappointed that they didn't refund us for the 1st night considering we were all miserable.
The Cottage is cared for and loved
HVAC system is less than 3 years old.... Monthly exterminator service as well....Reviewer's accusation seem a bit retaliatory due to our written agreement about refunds...Guest arrived at 3:30 pm and thermostat was fixed by 4:00. pm. The thermostat read 80 upon arrival. We did feel bad about having to wait for the home to cool down. However, everyone went straight to the lake for boating instruction and check out. No one looked miserable in fact lots of smiles.
Reviewer did break the bimini top on our boat and we agreed to not charge for this because of the thermostat issue. ..
Thought that was more than fair...
We had the greatest time at this beautiful home! It is right on the lake with beautiful blue water. Kids had a blast boating and swimming!
This home is in the Lake Lanier central lake area. We are just north of Brown's Bridge minutes from south lake area. The home has a private boat dock and boating club membership will make it easy to put a boat at your dock to add to your vacation experience See Northgeorgiaboat.org for more info on available boats to add to your package
