Beach, mountain and waterfront views from this brand new custom designed home
This is a brand new, custom-designed home with a Private Beach, beautiful Beach and Sea views to the east, and amazing Intercoastal and mountain views to the west. It is located on the North End of the Placencia Peninsula and less than 2 Miles from the Casino at the Placencia Hotel. The owner of the property also owns the Caribbean Seaside Lot Across the street, providing renters of the property with a beautifully manicured beach for private use. There are two incredible pools with full bar service located within a few miles of the house, offering vacationers the best of all worlds.
There is a circular gravel driveway which provides private off-road parking. The staircase takes you to the front door and accompanying porch - a great spot to watch the sunrise and catch the tradewinds.
From the front door, you enter the common hallway. On your left is a bedroom with queen bed, day lounger, tv, air conditioning, fan and a huge closet. On your right is another bedroom, with two twin beds, tv, air conditioning, fan and spacious closet. Neighbouring the bedrooms is a large, modern bathroom with full length vanity, toilet and shower. All towels provided of course.
The hall leads into an open plan kitchen, living room and dining area, which then flows through to the outside deck. The kitchen includes fullsize fridge and freezer, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher and all the cutlery, crockery and cookware that any chef could want. Granite countertops and hardwood cabinetry make it a pleasure to work in the kitchen. The oversized bar makes for a social place to hang out.
The dining area comfortably seats six people, as does the living area. There is a Smart tv, however there is actually no television service to the area. You are welcome to use the xbox that is hooked up to it to watch any of the dvds provided, listen to any of the cds, and play any downloads you have brought with you.
The outside deck here faces west and overlooks the lagoon and Maya mountains - a perfect place for sunset cocktails. In addition to the lounge furniture there is also a gas grill here, and steps down to the water's edge. Why not take one of the kayaks for a paddle and see what you can find? There are also two bicycles included in the rental for those that want to explore.
Back inside, the open stairs lead to the master suite. You get complete privacy up here, with bedroom, bathroom, dressing room/closet and your own private deck for two. The Bedroom has a queen island bed, plus bedside storage. The bathroom has a separate bath tub and shower, double vanity and toilet. The dressing room has ample space for both of you! The private deck is furnished so you can both enjoy some quiet time together .
This property is in the Plantation neighbourhood of the Placencia Peninsula. It is a residential area with beautiful homes and a waterfront location. It is just four miles to the village of Maya Beach and the nearest bars, restaurants and supermarket, and twelve miles to the end of the peninsula and Placencia Village itself.
We do recommend car rental for your stay to allow you to explore the peninsula and beyond. This can be done from Belize City or locally. Taxis are available, the buses are irregular.

This property is fabulous--incredible views, spacious, nicely furnished, well-stocked, clean and bright! The location is excellent: convenient to the Placencia peninsula and to the interior of Belize. The owner, Dave, was responsible and provided valuable information. Stefano, the on site manager, was friendly, available, and responsible. Having a car is advisable; if you have one, this is the place to stay.
We enjoyed our week long visit to this lovely home. We had been to Ambrigis Caye previously and wanted to spend time with our two young adult children closer to the rainforest this time. David was helpful and very responsive to our questions. Stephano was also gracious and provided requested staples upon arrival. The home is as described and has everything you need to enjoy the visit. We enjoyed Kayaking and sitting on the porch in the am. The kitchen is fine for very light cooking, but not for a meal that requires serious cooktop recipes. However, There are nice restaurants nearby, with Maya Beach Bistro being our favorite. The other restaurants were located closer to Placencia Village. Here is where we were a bit unhappy with this location. The drive into the village is challenging, with over 25 major speed humps(more like mounds) to navigate before reaching the village and took 30 minutes to drive. A bit of a pain if you needed something from the grocery or had a few drinks. However going the other way (north from the house) towards Dangriga, we were closer to rainforest activities. We enjoyed Zip lining at Mayan Canopy and the waterfalls next to this(beware of gate attendant rip off). We also loved the beach at Lost Reef as well. The beach across the street from house was nice but the House next to this section of the beach had bags of trash spilling out (think mosquitoes) and we did not spend much time there. Btw trash on beaches is not uncommon in Belize unfortunately. We had some very rainy weather unfortunately and discovered mosquitoes in abundance not only outside but inside the house as well. Even with the inconveniences we had a nice time.
K.C. Thanks for much for staying at our home. We were in constant discussion with our Property Manager during your stay and unfortunately the mosquito situation was very bad during your stay. Combined with the once in a hundred year rains that occurred this winter, the situation appears to have been a "freak" occurrence. Stefano advised us that in 25 years in Placencia he has never experienced either. Thank you for identifying the other concerns with the house. We have contacted the neighbours and resolved the waste disposal issue (personal friends of ours) and also completed a couple of maintenance issues in the house. All the best. DH.
Great Location for Exploring
Dave, was fantastic to deal; prompt to reply & provided great information ie. "buy your wine, 6 bottles per person, at the duty free on arrival for the best selection & cheapest price and eat at the Maya Beach Bistro”; so happy we did both.
We were two (50s something) Canadian couples travelling to Belize for the first time. The drive from the airport to the house was easy and we always felt safe. The house was exactly as pictured and Stephano was there to greet us. The location was convenient for day trips to the mainland and it was a 20-30 drive to the bottom on Placencia; lots of speed -bumps!
We made a few trips into Placencia for lunch, groceries, beer, and tried several times to get fresh fish from the fisherman but unfortunately it was always all pre-sold to the restaurants. We did have two great meals cooked for us by Radiance who came to the house. For 30-50 BZD pp & cab fare, she prepared dinner with an appetizer, then fish on one night and chicken on the other, a fresh vegetable, and delicious fresh coconut rice or potato salad. We had originally booked her for one night but loved the experience so much we asked her to come back for a second evening. We all highly recommend Radiance and have shared her contact numbers with Dave. She also operates a restaurant in Placencia.
Our day trips to the mainland included visiting the Falls, recommended by Dave. We went for a swim and enjoyed a beautiful picnic lunch – it is a unique spot. On the way into the Falls we saw directional signs for river tubing and zip-lining so on our way out we followed the signage. The signage was great and we arrived at the spot. We choose to do the lazy river tubing through the lush canopy of trees; I really felt like I was in the Belize. Our guide, Videl was amazingly attentive and during our conversation he told us he also did the water-fall repelling trips and this was something I very much wanted to do. We booked with him and his associate Julio – beyond tours 2425 at yahoo dot com.
The next day my husband and I met up with Videl and this excursion was the polar opposite of yesterday; it was a challenging walk/hike to the top of the waterfall and a totally exhilarating repel. The walking trail to the waterfall requires a level of agility and fitness as the terrain in rough and steep. That said, this was the highlight of our trip for me. Videl and Julio where personable and knowledgeable guides, who took great care with our safety. I highly recommend!

The Perfect Escape
If you are looking for a place anywhere in Placencia- you have found your perfect vacation home! The location is close enough to some great restaurants, groceries, and excursions, yet so peaceful and quiet when you retreat back to this well appointed beauty. Newer and well stocked, it has everything you need to just step right into your Belizean holiday. Kayaks, bikes, fishing poles, snorkel gear for fun. A blender, grill, stove, and oven to make all your drinks and meals. Very comfortable beds and a wonderful upstairs master oasis with its own balcony that gives you spectacular sunsets and countless stars. Not to mention you have a lake with mountain view in back and your own private Caribbean beach too! David's communication and assistance was top notch. Easy booking and response time and answered a lot of my questions as this was our first trip to Belize. He also has a fantastic binder of info of where to go, see, and eat while there. If this happens to be available- just book it and know you made the right decision. We will be back!
The definition of paradise
You know when you sit at home and think that you really need a vacation? You picture tropical weather, a quiet, private beach with palm trees, a seaside villa, luxurious sheets, a lagoon to kayak in, a kitchen worthy of fine dining, tall ceilings, cool tile floors, a deck to barbecue on, all the comforts of home, and a not-too-distant tropical village for late-night dancing on the sand, fresh frozen Gelato, gourmet meals and a beach boardwalk?
That is that place.
Awesome. I love this house.
This house was absolutely incredible. We were one of the first people to stay here after it was just completed. The pictures that are shown on the website are absolutely accurate. What it does not show in the pictures is the private beach that is right across the street where you can see a ton of pelicans diving for their meals. Cool !!! Although it was at the North end of the Peninsula, we spent a fair bit of time visiting the local restaurants in Maya Beach. Mango's and Singing Sands restaurants were great and quite close. What we really enjoyed was the quiet nights for sleeping, the birds waking us up in the morning, kayaking in our backyard and that incredible veranda outside of our master bedroom with the view of the Lagoon and Mountains. And the TUB is huge !!!! The nights are so quiet, watching stars from the beach is amazing. I never realized how many there were. This property was great for us to unwind, have some privacy and relax. It is a little ways from the village at the bottom of the Peninsula, so if you are looking to party every night, it may be a little to far away from the village for some. However, the location was ideal for us as the Zip Lining, Hiking, Access to head out to see Mayan Ruins and checking out the other villages and towns was perfect for driving straight out.

Reservations made for the Xmas Season (Dec 15 - Jan 13th) require a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the rental amount, plus the security deposit on booking. All other dates are subject to a deposit of 50% of the rental amount, plus the security deposit with refunds subject to the following conditions. Cancellations result in a 75% refund up to 90 days before arrival, 50% refund up to 60 days before arrival and no refund if cancelled within 60 days. We are not responsible for missed connections/weather/incorrect travel documents.
