About the property

Enjoy a relaxing getaway in a quiet neighborhood on Lewis Bay, with a private beach at the end of the street. Three bedrooms--2 double beds and 2 twins. Full bathroom and outdoor shower. Shady backyard patio to relax after a day at the beach. Walk .25 miles to one of the two neighborhood beaches and lounge on a float in Lewis Bay, or grab the bikes in the basement and bike along the shore through the backroads to the larger Seagull Beach, only 1.5 miles away (without having to drive on rt. 28!). Roll the kayaks down the end of the street and paddle around the bay, then walk over to Penguin Ice Cream after for homemade ice cream. Perfect neighborhood for families with small children! For the older crowd, just a few miles' drive into downtown Hyannis bars, restaurants, shops, and art galleries, and ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

If you enjoy outdoor activities, everything is here. 2 kayaks with dollies to roll them down to the beach and 4 adult bikes-- enjoy! (Use at own risk.)

Wifi & cable, with movie channels.

Linens not provided.

About Jessica Regan

Hi! I just bought this beautiful little house last summer, and have been updating and decorating, and now it's ready to enjoy! I currently live in Quincy and teach high school in Boston Public Schools, but I used to live on the Cape doing environmental conservation work with AmeriCorps and Mass Audubon. I've missed the salty air and wanted to buy a little place for us to get away from the city. I know some great beaches and hikes if you'd like to venture off the beaten path!

Jessica Regan purchased this house in 2015

Why Jessica Regan chose Yarmouth

I fell in love with the Cape when I used to live here, and I love this neighborhood in particular. It's a quiet neighborhood with three beaches within 1.5 miles away, without having to drive on rt. 28. You can bike to Seagull Beach in 10 minutes, with the last stretch meandering by Lewis Pond--nothing but water and ospreys and trees. Or you can walk down the street to the smaller, quieter bay beaches and sit and watch the boats or read without the crowds. One has a swing set and monkey bars if you have kids. Yarmouth is a great spot because it's not too far a drive, and you can easily access the outer cape once you're there.

What makes this house unique

If it's not windy, when you're sitting on the back patio or sleeping in one of the back bedrooms, you can hear a fountain one of the neighbors installed in a pond in the woods. The perfect end to the day is to bike back from the beach, refresh in the outdoor shower, and sit and enjoy a glass of wine with the fountain in the background. Maybe stroll down to the end of the street after dinner to watch the sunset on Lewis Bay, or up to Penguin Ice Cream for a cone.

And less romantic, but there's also a basement, which is rare for the Cape. It's convenient to store all the bikes, boats, and beach chairs, not to mention do laundry.

Notes:
We also have a whole-house fan, which can be turned on in evening when the air outside is cooler. ALL WINDOWS MUST BE OPEN to use! It sucks in cool air and circulates it out through the attic ridge vent. Feels great. There are also small portable fans in each bedroom. DO NOT TURN ON ATTIC FAN AND GAS STOVE AT SAME TIME. We also have an unassembled dog crate for medium-sized dog is in the basement.
