Proximity to Motu cycling trail
An oldie but a goodie. An old typical kiwi Bach with character in the process of a makeover. The close proximity to the never ending beach, the Motu cycling trail, the fenced property and the dog friendliness are what appealed to us. Comfy bed in middle
Bedroom (only 2 of us stayed) and cozy wood burner. This property is surrounded on 3 sides and one of the neighbours yard very messy. The peep of the ocean and the sound of the sea make up for it. Access to the oven awkward with cabinetry preventing full opening of door ; okay for pizza but perhaps not for a saucy casserole. New world supermarket a mere 10mn drive away and the 2 fish cafe in Opotiki is fabulous. A big Thank you for allowing our 4 legged family member to join us indoors.
The property is in the middle of refurbishment but has everything we needed for a nice stay.
The location of the property was perfect for us, close to the beach and a very relaxing spot. Rachel was lovely to deal with and we had no issues.
A great time
We had a relaxing great stay, our dogs loved the beach and it was nice to have a fire to ward off the damp chill from the torrential rain. Will be back again to amble on the beach
Tirohanga Beach is a gentle sloping white sand beach on the eastern edge of the Bay of Plenty only 5 minutes past Opotiki. Often described as the gateway to the East Cape, Tirohanga Beach is the last accessible beach before the Raukūmara Ranges meet the ocean and the coastline begins to become rocky and the beaches stoney.
Tirohanga is a fantastic location to stop and enjoy the beach and traditional New Zealand beachfront. Motu Trails, one of the Great Rides of Nga Haerenga, The New Zealand Cycle Trail. The mountain biking and hiking trails are in the eastern Bay of Plenty/Eastland region of New Zealand, Opotiki, Tirohanga.
