Why Donna chose North Shore Oahu

Why rent from me?

• Our home, has partial ocean views, mountains, parks, and the Pacific Ocean to play in.

• Our home is attractively priced - 30% to 50% less than renting from a hotel.

• Our home comes with a closet full of free goodies - Pack-N-Play, beach chairs, toys, snorkels, boogie boards and fins.

• Our home has free WiFi service - up to 4 devices at once.

What makes this house unique

Waimea Bay has some of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Oahu. It is great for snorkeling in the non-winter months. Jump rock is great fun for the brave. The water is so clear and beautiful. The beach is very large and most of the bay is a sand bottom. Waimea Bay has a peaceful country feel.

House History: the home was originally owned by the late Pro surfer Mark Foo.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This home was the most perfect location centered on the north shore. Donna was super helpful and full of ideas for exploring the area. The house was comfortable and nice but lets be honest, nobody comes to Hawaii to sit inside. Loved the short little path that leads to overlooking waimea bay. The only complaint would be that we couldn't watch movies at night due to a slow internet, but with that being said it was actually a nice break from the good ole tv. We had a lovely time and most definitely would stay here again.

Owner's Response: Aloha and thank you so much for your 5 Star Review! You all were coming and going and seeing the wonderful island and all it has to offer. I'm glad I was of assistance in that. As for movies, we have cable so I'm really not too sure about. If you were watching on Netflix of something like that which requires internet, that is out of my control. We do provide up to date routers for our internet but again that is out of my control if something is going on, on their end. I apologise for any inconvenience. Do come back and stay with us again and bring the entire family!

Close to Beaches

  • 3 of 5

This 2 bedroom rental flat is below a larger rental flat, and the owner lives in the back. The house is situated on a cul-de-sac close to Kamehameha highway. The house rules are clear, there is beach items (beach towels, snorkel, floaties, fins, etc) available to use and patio chairs. Its right above Waimea Beach and the entrance to Waimea Valley. There was construction next door and the tenants upstairs were loud, but if your outside it should be okay. There was wifi, cable, and board games available. It wasn't that far from the Polynesian Cultural Center ,and lots of food trucks that were delicious. Like other places in Hawaii/tropics its warm and there's roaches around. But enjoy your time in Hawaii and respect the culture.

Owner's Response: Aloha and thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed the home during your vacation in Hawaii and got to see and do so many things here in the tropical islands. Yes the tropics are warm and we do pay a hefty monthly bug man bill so we don't have any in the home. Again thanks for staying with us.

Wonderful piece of Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I ( me, my husband, 12 y/o son, 18 y/o daughter) had a WONDERFUL 3-night stay in Haleiwa before our cruise! We arrived late afternoon, due to our scenic drive the LONG way around the island. The home is situated in a small, quiet, neighborhood, away from hotels and condos, and other "touristy" areas, but close enough to groceries and other necessities, as well as some of the best beaches and hiking areas. Everything was clean and welcoming, and Donna made us feel at home shortly after our arrival.

Both bedrooms were comfy. Our children particularly liked the two twin beds. As much as they love each other, having their OWN bed was a nice touch, and most of even the nicest hotels don't offer that. The bathroom was spotless, as was the kitchen, which had everything we needed to make meals anytime we chose. Donna included a "Member" card for the local grocery store, so we saved money buying what we needed to prepare breakfast, snacks, and even a couple of "dinners". The grill on the patio worked wonderfully, and we dined on the lanai one evening. LOVED having the use of a washer and dryer. Nice to be able to repack for our cruise with clean clothes.

We had rented a car and spent most of the day time hours out and about, and loved how close we were to everything. Polynesian Cultural Center: 20 minutes, Pearl Harbor: 30 minutes, Waimea Bay and Waimea Valley: 5 minutes, grocery store: 10 minutes, Sharks Cove (amazing snorkeling!): 10 minutes. Across from Sharks Cove were food trucks, GREAT fish tacos. Notebook on the table with info. on just about everything. Pick a direction, you'll find something to do without having to go far, without the rush of the city. So peaceful. We really didn't want to leave :)

Big bin of beach stuff on the side of the lanai: boogie boards, snorkel stuff, fins, chairs, and other assorted "beachy stuff", nice touch. Also had beach mats in the house.

Two days into our stay, the top floor guests arrived. We shared some hellos and friendly chatter, but other than that, we hardly noticed they were there. Meaning: no stomping or conversations coming through the ceiling.

We STRONGLY recommend this rental to anyone who is looking for time in Hawaii away from the city traffic and touristy stuff. This place is comfy, clean, and in a great location. Donna is a delightful hostess, and so knowledgeable about the area. When we come back to Oahu we will definitely try to book here again!

Car: not necessary

Our home is built on a lava outcrop on the south side of Waimea Bay. Near by is an ancient Hawaiian Heiau. Waimea Valley is a very special place with a long history of a thriving Hawaiian community.

During summer months Waimea Bay beach is a peaceful ocean playground. Relaxing along the aqua blue water and sandy beach of Waimea Bay will be a treasured experience.

During the winter months Waimea Bay has some of the largest surfing waves on Earth. This break is where the famous invitation only Eddie Aikau surf contest is held. The first place purse is $55,000 which goes to the surfer who has the highest points. In order for the contest to be held Waimea Bay needs to be breaking at minimum of 20 feet.

Other Activities: Hunting for Sea shells.

Golf: The Turtle Bay Hilton 15 minutes north of our unit features a Arnold Palmer course. This course is located along a beauitful beach.
