Very cosy cottage everything you need easy walking distance to town and beach great week
It was cosy.
Great value and a lovely house.
An old property with some original features but modern kitchen and bathrooms. In fifty years of self catering only once before have we had such a well equipped house. Cosy, not too smart so we were very relaxed. Close to the town centre and beach we walked down several times a day. The only downside was the very steep hill, not suitable for anyone with limited mobility and steep stairs in the house, but that is just a warning to others we were fine.
Fantastic location, comfy house
Had a great family break. Weather was kind to us and it’s very close to all amenities. The house has character and is extremely well equipped.
Everything we could want in our favourite place. Thankyou for having us
Warm and cosy house, centrally located.
We enjoyed our stay in this centrally located house. It was warm and most of the beds were very comfortable. The curtains in the main double bedroom did not close well so we improved with a hair clip to keep them closed which worked well. The kitchen was small but well equipped. Some of the armchairs in the sitting room were not that comfortable when sat on for long periods of time but the sofa was comfortable. We enjoyed being able to watch films via Netflix on the TV. We could not always park outside the house on the road but the owners had made us aware of this. We parked on a road nearby and this did not affect us as we mainly did local activities. The street was generally quiet even though it was so centrally located.
The delights of Swanage are many! We are at the end of the Purbeck Peninsula and at the start of the Jurassic Coast, England's first natural World Heritage Site.
It is a traditional seaside town with safe swimming from the blue flag beach and there is a Punch and Judy show during the summer. There is a good children's playground and rides opposite the beach. The Carnival Week at the end of July and the RNLI Week in August are very popular with locals and visitors alike - always lots going on!
The Beach Gardens have tennis, bowls and putting and there is a larger pitch and putt in the town. There are four indoor swimming pools in the area.
We have music festivals to suit most tastes - blues, jazz, folk - and there are regular concerts in St Mary's Church as well as a varied programme at the Mowlem Theatre.
