About Greg Miller

This property was meant for me. When I was a little boy my father would take us to this lake and we would stay just for the weekend at a trailer my father had at Grider Hill Marina. When I went to visit after a 15 year leave of absence, I remembered the great times we had. Therefore, I had to buy this little jewel of a place.

Greg Miller purchased this mobile home in 2009

Why Greg Miller chose Albany

This property was very close to the property my father took us to when we were younger. Great Memories! Lake is back up to the levels I remembered. Upon sight of this property we fell in love with the large screened in porch and the wooded lot.

What makes this mobile home unique

Very quiet area. Wooded lot. Marina 3 miles away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Very Clean, Great time! Great screened in area to host large dinners. Would recommend to a friend. Will be back next year. It was nice to go in and find in the refrigerator ice cold waters and cokes to enjoy. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

A good place to rest and relax.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and fresh. There was plenty of cooking supplies and dishes. Beds were comfortable. The only issues we had was if you use the microwave and coffee maker at the same time it blows the fuse. And the cable tv did not work in the bedrooms. Overall we would stay again as we really slept well after spending all day fishing on the lake.

Not luxurious, but all we needed!

  • 4 of 5

3 bedrooms...we used one. Slept like a baby every night. Up early to get an early fishing start while my wife sleeps in. Rented covered slip at GHD. 2.7 miles from the dock. Easy early morning bike ride too the slip (mostly downhill). Wife would come in truck later in morning. We cooked every night but one...so kitchen was good. Screened in porch great, though beware the racoons

Decent place to stay for a fishing trip & the cost was reasonable.

I stayed at this property with my best friend, brother, and son, and we had a really good time. Staying at a property like this offers benefits that a hotel or motel doesn't really afford like the social aspects, cooking together, etc.. The property was clean and had the necessary amenities. It is a single wide trailer; and the bathroom is on par with that. Probably not the ideal location to take wives, but it worked well for us. The screened in deck needs some attention as we had a raccoon coming and going at will. The grill needs to be replaced; I had to light one burner with a lighter, turn the gas on to the other 3, shut the lid and wait for the other 3 to light off. I'd suggest modifying the rental policy to simply have a cleaning fee because the rules of the rental were somewhat arduous given it was a vacation. You're supposed to vacuum the whole trailer, wash & dry all the linens and towels, remake the beds, clean the bathroom, etc.. So, we spent the bulk of our last morning together doing all that...not fun. The owner was good to work with. If you're in the area, we highly recommend Hunter's BBQ. It was different than what I was used to, but it was very good.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. I may have forgot to provide you with instruction on the grill. The grill does have functioning burners. We have a fire stick there at the grill to light each burner separately. Thanks for giving us a heads up on our cleaning list. We made the list based on what we do when we stay at rentals. We will look into changing our cleaning instructions. We will have quest put their used linens in a pile before they leave in order to know what beds were slept in and not to worry about vacuuming the carpet. Thanks again for staying at our place and hope to see you next time.

What a wonderful getaway to beautiful Lake Cumberland. An easy 8 minute drive to the lake, a beautiful wooded, secluded spot with a nice cozy place. We had an amazing time and would definitely stay again. Thanks to the owners for sharing their home away from home with us.

Map

Great lake for Stripper fishing. Recommend local fishing guides. They do a great job and entertain also. The local town restaurants in Albany are great. I would recommend Horseshoe located in Albany, about three miles past the IGA. Best Steak in town.
