Why Susan Moyer chose St Helena
This 100+ year old Victorian has created amazing memories for so many. When I lived in the bay area, I would spend every weekend at my house, with guests from all over. Everyone who has stayed here feels my home is such a special place. The convenience to walk to town is huge bonus. No need to get in the car, if you don't want to, plenty of restaurants and wineries near by. I know you'll love my home as much as me and friends and family do!

Even better than the listing!!!
This property could not have been better for a group of 6 of us. It is actually bigger than the pictures suggest and in the perfect location! I easily walked to town every morning to get breakfast, and our group walked to dinner 2 of the nights.
Lastly, I can’t say enough great things about the host who went over and beyond to make our visit as perfect as possible.
Hope I am lucky enough to stay here again someday.
Great house and location-responsive owner!
We will be back
This place is absolutely perfect. Clean, big close to everything. Susan was awesome to respond to a few questions we had when we arrived. Absolutely no issues at all. We will be back same time next year for the Howell Mountain Wine Fesitival
This property is absolutely perfect. Very charming home with plenty of room and well equipped and stocked for any occasion. Susan, the home owner, was very helpful and always available to answer any questions. The location is perfect. A very short drive to Main Street and walking distance to a few restaurants including Farmstead at Long Meadows Ranch (which I highly recommend). St Helena is also ideal in many regards. It’s situated such that most vineyards are a short drive away and most of all the town has the feel of a small quaint and relaxing vacation spot. I highly recommend this home for your next stay in wine country.
Thank you so much for such a nice review! You were a perfect guest as well! I'm glad you had such a nice time. I hope you will come back and visit in the future!
Great location, good for a small group
We stayed at the property with two other couples. The front two bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely. The en-suite bathroom in the pool house bedroom was very small with not really anywhere to get ready and going up the little stairs to it was strange. The windows didn’t have screens, so either stuffy or contend with some bugs. That being said we knew this was an older house and expected some quirks. The living room, dining room, kitchen and pool area were great for our group of six to socialize. The towels and sheets were top notch. The place was very clean. We loved the location walking distance to downtown. Beware that the driveway is kind of an obstacle course with a fire hydrant on one side and tree and large shrubs on the other. All in all, with the location and common areas it was a nice place to stay for 3 couples.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, whenever anyone asks me about the layout of the house/guesthouse, I always make sure they are aware that the bathroom in the guesthouse is very small. The upside for the guests that stay in there, is they have that whole living room/kitchen area to hang out in. I'll try to add more information on my listing to make sure there are no surprises. There is also the bathroom right off the deck that can be used in the main house.
I also wish there were screens on the windows. Unfortunately, the person who put the windows in, didn't have the forethought (or maybe the budget) to consider the benefits. Maybe some day I will be able to replace the windows and add them. I'm glad you enjoyed most of the house, and the location, and thanks for mentioning the linens. I'm super picky about my beds and linens.
Great stay in such a prime location
I stayed at this location with my fiance and her parents. It was more than enough space for us and would have been comfortable with a couple more people as well. The house has a lot of charm and we had a great time as a family. The location is right by downtown St Helena and we loved being within walking distance to great restaurants and bars. We did encounter one hiccup pertaining to the pool and spa but we reached out to Susan and she was very responsive. It was not able to be fixed at that time and Susan was very sorry and we were very understanding. Part of this misunderstanding came from us assuming the pool would be heated but we quickly found out we were supposed to let Susan know beforehand if we wanted it heated (and has an additional cost). We also found out this info is on the VRBO website but is hidden on the mobile app. This is a heads up for future guests.
Check in and check out were easy and great. We had a fantastic weekend and would recommend to anybody.
Thank you so much for understanding about the pool. I'm so glad you and your future family had a nice time, and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Best, Susan
Walking distance to downtown St Helena, Wineries and Restaurants. At the end of the street, visit the Napa Valley Olive Oil company in the big white barn. Enjoy a nice dinner at Farmstead, or casual dinner with the kids at Pizzeria Tra Vigne.
