It doesn’t get more comfortable than Wyanoak. With high end décor and all the comforts and spaciousness of home, this cabin is perfectly cozy for a couple but it really shines as a place to entertain.
The Location: Wyanoak Lodge is located within the Highlands town limits near Mirror Lake. It’s just far enough from the beaten path that you will have privacy but close enough that dinner/shopping on Main Street is only a mile’s drive away.
The Property: Wyanoak is located on a 1+ acre lot that’s shielded from the street by a wall of thick evergreens. We own the adjacent wooded lot, giving the property complete privacy and beautiful views of nature. There is a small grass yard for frolicking and beautiful landscaping that is indigenous to the area.
The Cabin: Wyanoak Lodge has all high end finishes, including shiplap walls, wood ceilings, a double-sided fireplace with stone hearth, a spacious outdoor screened porch with double-sided fireplace, custom wormwood cabinetry.
The Layout: From the front door, guests enter into an open floor plan. The chef’s kitchen is to the left with laundry and half bath. To the right is the cozy living room with double doors leading to the screened porch with wood-burning fireplace. On the other side of the living room is a double-sided fireplace that flows through to the dining room, which seats 6-8 and has a big, beautiful bank of windows. Off the kitchen is the lower level king master suite. This en-suite bathroom includes a stand up double shower, double vanities, make-up area, and toilet room. Off the living room, there is an operable door for privacy then stairs that ascend to the second story master suite. This king suite features a seating area for 2, a small winter view, a walk in closet large enough for a pack-n-play, and a bathroom with a tub/shower combo and toilet and a separate room with a double vanity area.
The Area: Highlands is the premier mountain destination in the Southeast. Lined with shopping, dining, museums and galleries, the bustling mountain village centering around Main Street is straight from a Norman Rockwell painting. Previously a summer/fall hotspot, it’s quickly becoming a year-round destination. At 4,118 feet, it’s one of the few temperate rain forests in North America, bringing botanists and nature lovers from all over the world.
Highlands is also a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. With an abundance of opportunities for biking, hiking, horseback riding, tubing, canoeing, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting, adventure-seekers will not find a more beautiful backdrop.
The Details: The living room and both bedrooms have large flat screen TV’s and fiber-optic cable and wifi. The kitchen has an under-counter wine fridge, toaster, drip coffee-maker is stocked with general kitchen essentials and then some. All of our cabins are pet friendly with prior approval and a nominal pet fee. There is an on-site carriage house that can be rented in conjunction with the house. If not rented, we reserve the right to rent the carriage house to another party- either way, the main house has complete privacy, as the house/screened porch face in the opposite direction and the only shared amenity is the driveway.
