A 30sec walk in the other direction takes you to London Road, a major bus nexus providing access to Princes Street (5mins), routes to the Old/New Town, the Royal Yacht (15mins) & Edinburgh Zoo (30mins) etc. The apartment has FREE WiFi/Parking & is 1min away from shops.
This central Edinburgh apartment (see our map “photo”) occupies a quiet, sunny position on the fourth floor (easily accessed by lift/elevator or stairs from the lobby) of a recently built (2004) development. A 30 second walk takes you to the amenity intensive London Road, which boasts fantastic transport links to the principal tourist attractions as well as the scenic City center. There is a Secure (buzzer) Entry System with an intercom providing additional security, while the common areas are well lit, cleaned weekly and kept in good repair.
The apartment is situated pretty much as close as you can get to all the historic Old Town sites and visitor attractions in Edinburgh with FREE on street parking. Most of central Edinburgh is unfortunately (expensive!) metered parking zones.
The apartment comprises an attractive, large (c.400SqFt), light, bright open living / dining room with plenty of space to kick back and relax after a hard day out seeing the sights or attending a work event. The living room has a comfortable sofa bed, which pulls out very easily to form a good sized (6Ft 8') double bed, a separate 3 seater couch and comfortable chairs. In addition there is a modern flat screen TV with DVD player (DVD library provided), as well as an iPod docking / speaker / charger. The dining table comfortably seats 6, with (double glazed) picture window views of Holyrood Park to be enjoyed over breakfast / diner.
The modern kitchen is well provided with crockery, cutlery, glasses and kitchenware, a cooker, washer/dryer, dish washer, fridge, freezer & microwave as well as electrically wired heat & smoke detectors. In the vicinity there are a number of smaller shops as well as (5mins walk) the substantial Meadowbank shopping center that includes a Sainsburys, TK Maxx and other outlets. However, for those that prefer to dine out, cosmopolitan Edinburgh is renowned for its large selection of restaurants, with a variety of restaurants / pubs nearby.
The sizeable master bedroom with King sized bed, built in wardrobes and table & chairs to quietly relax in. There are unobstructed views of the beautiful 650 acre Holyrood Park, home to the Palace of Holyrood House (the Queen's official residence in Scotland), which is just a 5min walk from the flat.
The second bedroom is similarly spacious with 2 single beds, built in double wardrobes and, like the whole apartment, benefits from double glazing. The bathroom, which has recently been modernised, comprises of a toilet, wash hand basin & bath with modern shower / shower screen. The separate shower room has also been modernised and has a shower cubicle, with toilet and wash hand basin.
A 30 second walk takes you to the buzzing London Road’s shops/pubs and, as a major bus nexus, gives unrivalled access to a host of bus routes to main tourist destinations (Princes Street in 5mins, the Old Town, New Town, the Royal Yacht, Edinburgh Zoo etc) and shopping destinations. While a 5min walk in the other direction takes you to the bottom of the World famous “Royal Mile” (as the name suggests, it’s a mile from Holyrood Palace to Edinburgh Castle) and various tourist bus stops.
Whenever possible, guests will be welcomed personally at the property for the handover of keys. As you would expect, crisp fresh linen, bath and hand towels are provided for guests. In addition, local information / literature, an iPod docking station and a selection of books, DVDs & board games have been provided for your perusal.
Due to local restrictions, the maximum length of a stay is 30 days.
