Expansive Ocean Views on All Levels, Comfortable Visiting and Private Spaces

  • 5 of 5

This home was the chosen location for six retired women friends looking for a spring get-away of relaxation, warmth, good food, sight-seeing, and friendship. The location and home provided for all of these desires! Andrea was responsive and communicative in our preparations for the trip, answered any questions we had during our trip, and afterwards too. This rental is Andrea's home and her care of her property is evident. Since the house is lived in, renters need to be aware there will be personal belongings in some spaces. The house was very clean when we arrived and we had more than adequate and comfortable spaces for our belongings and activities. All of us reported comfortable sleep too.

Our plan was to be outside as much as possible and the patios for ocean views and visiting were perfect. The kitchen opening to the family room was great for happy hours and creating amazing dinners.

During our time in the Santa Barbara area we took in the sights of the Funk Zone, the downtown beaches, and State Street Santa Barbara, hiked Romero Canyon Trail just up the mountain from Summerland, and explored some area beaches. When we weren't cooking, we ate at the Boathouse at Hendry's Beach, Beachside Cafe in Goleta, Les Marchands Wine Bar, had cocktails at the Good Lion, and did the Foodie Stroll with the chef from Bouchon. All were great fun for our group! The location of this home provided accessibility to all of these and we'd come back - for a longer stay - in a heartbeat.

Wonderfully comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

I liked owner, Andrea, the first time I called her. She was so very accommodating. We flew in from 4 different northern states for a family wedding and were delighted with this large airy house with its ocean views, big windows and white furnishings--so California! We loved the multi-level floor plan with the big sky lit staircase. The great room kitchen/dining/family room with adjacent patio was our favorite place to hang out together, while the master bedroom and living room balconies were pretty popular, too. The kitchen had all the condiments, spices, etc. as well as dishes and cookware that anyone would ever need. Everything was clean, lots of extra towels & bedding, a well equipped laundry and even a lemon tree in the back yard. Our only regret was that with all the wedding activities we never had enough time to just be at the house.

Great home, great views. Friendly owner.

  • 5 of 5

Traveling to Santa Barbara for a family wedding, nine adults stayed in this home. The pictures provided do not do it justice. Beautiful home and beautiful view of the ocean. Well stocked with anything you might need. The home has several levels which allowed for private time if desired as well as plenty of room for all to gather. We were somewhat reluctant to be a little south of Santa Barbara (2-3 miles) but were very glad we did. It was more quiet and away from all the people and traffic. The owner was very pleasant to deal with. Would definitely rent again.

Absolutely amazing property and views.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this awesome property over Easter. A blending of several families, the house was perfect for us! Plenty of sleeping areas, as well as living areas and yards and balconies. Great for large groups. The views were amazing!! The house felt very private and had everything we needed! The kitchen is more than stocked with anything you could possibly need! The house was also very clean and the beds were super comfortable. A super short drive to the one of the best beaches we've ever been too! Great size and hardly anyone there....and got to watch people riding horses and the dolphins playing in the surf. The owner checked on us the first night to make sure we had gotten into the house and that we had everything we needed. Overall, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We will be back next year! Thank you Andrea for sharing your home and your hospitality.

Glorious views, quaint town

  • 5 of 5

We had a family reunion here, and it couldn't have been a more delightful spot. Glass everywhere allowed everyone to enjoy the fabulous ocean views and always be aware of what was going on where. The hot tub on the terrace overlooking the sea was a great favorite. We brought a great deal with us, much more than we needed to, as the house had plenty of dishes, cookware, etc. As it was a Christmas reunion, we were very touched that the owner, who was very good to work with, had placed poinsettias and other decorations about the house, and she didn't mind that we brought in our own decorations as well. The town of Summerland is very small and charming, with antique shops, pleasant dog-friendly cafes, and a great beach. You can also take a local bus into Santa Barbara if you don't have a car. Highly recommended!

Nice House

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this house in the beginning of August 2013.

We enjoyed the unique layout of the house, which has great natural light and outdoor exposure. The open air concept was enjoyed by my family of 7 for a week. The grill and jacuzzi were very nice and the town of Summerland has a lot of CA type charm.

It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach. We spent most of our time in Santa Barbara proper which was very close by car.

The owner was gracious and very cooperative and we had a very good stay.
