Family Spring Break
Our family of 4 visited the island from WI for spring break. The week was windy and the ocean was rolling but we found a lot to do on the island. The beaches are great and we enjoyed Fort Gaines, the Estruarium and the bird sanctuary. The house is clean and comfortable.
The property was nice
The property was nice!
Great place for our whole family ( dogs included) to enjoy vacation! Kathryn was very helpful in recommending places to eat and sites to see.
Really nice house - everything we needed
This is a very nice house - comfortably appointed, but with nice touches. The location is close to the beach (which was great for the dogs) and I could see the surf from the kitchen window (which I loved). The kitchen is really large (yay!) and has a great quantity of pots, pans, utensils and cookware. A few pieces could stand to be retired, but I always travel with my "portable kitchen" so was using mostly my own pans anyway.
The bed was very comfortable, and the whole house is quite spacious. Lots of closet space and plenty of towels, bedding, etc. Being that there was a hurricane in early October of last year, the house was in good shape after the island took a great beating. I noticed a couple of light bulbs out (or sporadically coming off and on), but otherwise everything worked. Appliances are older but all functional.
The owners made our stay very nice, as well - met us to give us the key and "hall pass" (part of the island where this property is was restricted access to property owners and their guests due to cleanup still occurring after the hurricane). They even brought a charcoal grill for us to use when the one on the property wasn't quite up to snuff.
We also noticed that the interior of the house was nicely trimmed (mouldings, chair rails, cornices, etc.). Compared to other houses that we could see from the street, it was just plain nicer - bright and comfortable.
This property is also dog-friendly (on-leash, and clean up after your pets). We brought a baby gate to close off the stairs to the front veranda, and the dogs could go out and enjoy the sunshine whenever they wanted.
We would definitely stay here again - we were here off-season, and will probably come back again around that time of year (less people about). We can't come back next year, but hopefully late February 2020... :) Highly recommend this place!
Exactly as seem on website. Nicely maintained.
Would love to stay there again. Only a short walk to the beach where our family walked every morning. Very clean, very private and owner was extremely helpful!
Location was good, spacious home with a great view. We enjoyed our stay.
