Why fight the swarms of bugs in the maritime forest? The unhindered ocean breeze blows most of them away.
Why load up a cart to haul everything to the beach? If you are thirsty, it is just a few steps back to the house. If one member of your group needs a break from the sun, he can relax in the swing on the lower porch. Baby needs a nap, but you don’t want to leave the beach, hang out on the upper deck and see the ocean while still in earshot. Rather than having to work your way around others at the popular public accesses, you will often find the beautiful stretch of beach in front of the house all but empty.
From the balcony, you can watch the sun rise with your first cup of coffee and watch it set with a cool evening drink. As one guest wrote, 'Your home is beautiful... you have to be here to believe the unforgettable view!'
With vaulted ceilings and a bright cheery interior, the living and dining area is a great place to hang out with the family at the end of the day. The cabinets are stocked with books for both adults and children, games and plenty of movies. The kitchen has all the equipment to prepare your meals, right down to cookbooks and a spice rack. You can even watch the waves crash on the beach as you make dinner. Prepare breakfast and walk right out to the upper deck to enjoy it along with the amazing ocean view.
Downstairs, both the Master bedroom and Queen guest room lead out to a screened-in porch with a swing, rockers, and a picnic table and they offer beautiful views of the dunes and beach. The Master bedroom has a King bed, large closet, sitting area, television and private bathroom. The 3rd bedroom with twin beds is a favorite with the kids and also comes with a closet filled with toys. A 2nd full bathroom is on this floor.
Blue Moon is located on a quiet cul de sac. The kids can bring their skates and scooters or ride the bikes provided without worry of through golf cart traffic. Set closer to the beach than any house in the popular neighborhood of Killegray Ridge, the panoramic views are truly superior and offer amazing tranquility. The other half of this duplex is not a regular rental property (although they will sometimes consider renting to friends of our guests who want to be close to each other but still have their own personal space) and the owners are very quiet if they are there at all. With the beach access directly in front of the house, the beautiful Shoals Club a pleasant walk down the beach or a 5 minute golf cart ride, and the Maritime Market and Bald Head Island Club less than 8 minutes away, you won't find a better location.
The house is perfectly designed for a family, couples or a group of adults just looking to get away from it all. We have great pride of ownership and follow a rigorous maintenance routine to keep Blue Moon in a condition that consistently exceeds our guests' expectations. It is our goal to offer an extraordinary vacation experience. We provide a thorough information packet to help you prepare for and enjoy your trip and welcome any and all questions about Blue Moon and Bald Head Island.
Please note: Saturday to Saturday rentals only from June - August. Four-night minimum for holiday weekends. Three-night minimum otherwise. No pets and no smoking - sorry no exceptions.
