Beautiful house close to beach

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful home and short walk to the beach. House was spacious, but the refrigerator and freezer did not work well. We had a lot of food go bad. Pool was kind of smaller than expected

Great vacation!

  • 4 of 5

Other than a few minor cosmetic upgrades that need to be done, the House was great!! The location is great, we enjoyed having our own pool and hot tub. The kitchen is nicely equipped and the beaches are beautiful!! Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent, accessible owners. Beautiful home. Easy beach access. Can’t wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

We recently visited Cape San Blas for a sibling’s trip and stayed at this beautiful beach house. There were 14 of us total, 3 sibling couples and their kids. A very roomy, open concept with 4 bedrooms and 2 separate living areas made it a perfect for corralling the kids to themselves and give the adults some breathing room. The en suite bathrooms in the 3 upstairs bedrooms was the best fit for multiple families along with the easily accessible half-bath downstairs. A word to the wise...there’s a starter toilet paper kit, but you may wanna grab extra (we ran out :o). We were originally a little concerned with the short walk to the beach, but it was closer than we thought it would be. Having the pool was also nice, but it was on the smaller size...great for little ones. There was a grill that is the open, campsite style, so you may wanna bring your own if that doesn’t suit you.

We did have an issue with the washer not working, but we called and the owner had a new ones installed the same day. We were very impressed with their responsiveness. They really are great. Another tidbit...the dryer would really only get hot on the timed dry and not on the auto setting. Just keep that in mind.

We completely loved this place and hated to leave. We’re counting down the time til we can get back down there. To the Penlands, thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Awesome house and had an awesome time

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome time, quick walks to the beach, the house had all the amenities any one could ask for in a vacation rental. We pent the days laughing and playing on the beach, cookef out every eveninh and went crabing at night, The owners were super responsive, can not recommend enough, the only thing missing was a guest book! Hope to be back there soon!

Great stay on Cape San Blas

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at The Mediterranean! House was great for our family -- nice that the 3 "adult" bedrooms all had their own full bath. Only one block to the beach, and having the small pool is really nice for the small kids. The house was well stocked, although having a few small bowls in the kitchen would have been nice. There were a few nails on the hand rail on the steps to the pool area that needed to be hammered in -- we took care of it but some of the boards (hand rail and foot boards) in that area should likely be looked at as there are a few screws that could be an issue. But all in all, a great place to stay for a nice relaxing stay at a beautiful beach!

Peaceful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, spacious home in Cape San Blas. It is a very easy walk to a beautiful and uncrowded beach. The people are few but are so friendly in this area. The floor plan of this home is very nice. You will love all of the porches! We stayed 9 nights and wish we could have stayed longer!

Cape San Blas is in an area of Florida called the Forgotten Coast. The pace is slow and and the white sands and turquoise waters are untouched by high rise condos and hustle and bustle that is associated with Florida today.

For the more active traveler the possibilities are endless. Take a horseback ride on the beach, go snorkeling in the bay for scallops, dive a ship in the bay that was sunk by the Germans in WW2 and learn the story behind it, and bike the endless bike paths that run the length of the Cape and all through Port St Joe. The fishing is also incredible, whether you are surf fishing, bay fishing or offshore fishing.

Visit the antique stores and wonderful restaurants on Reid Avenue in Port St Joe and and be sure and visit the quaint old city of Apalachicola, the seafood capital of the world.

Whether you enjoy walking your dog on the beach and watching the amazing sunsets or curling up in the hammock with a good book, Cape San Blas is a place that you will remember and want to return to again and again.
