Our 3 story GULF FRONT home, located in the ever popular SandDollar town home complex, is the perfect choice for your beach vacation. Besides the fact we are directly on the beach, you can walk to many area favorites such as Pompano Joe's, Alvin's Island, Emerald Coast Wine Cellars, The Bad Ass Coffee Company, Dairy Queen & The Whale's Tail. You really can't be in a better location than this! We are a very short drive to a brand new Winn Dixie, The Silver Sands Outlet Mall & The Destin Commons. If fishing or boating is calling your name, we are only 8 miles from the Destin Harbor.

Our home boasts 3 levels of living space & 3 gulf front balconies that offer endless views of the Gulf of Mexico and the Emerald Coast's white sand and turquoise waters. Any given morning, you can see dolphins swimming in the Gulf while you sip your coffee.

You will park directly in front of our townhome, so you do not have any busy streets to cross. However, just across the street, you have direct access to over 6 miles of paved pathway for jogging, walking or biking. Please note that parking can be tight at Sanddollar. There is of room for 2-3 cars. Having 4 cars can make it very tight for all to park in front of the unit. There is a public parking area a short walk down the road that you can use, if needed. We are not responsible for cars left there, however, we have used it many times ourselves.

Our king master bedroom is located on the third floor with its own private balcony with lounge chairs and en suite bath with tiled tub surround. The third floor also has a street facing queen bedroom with an en suite full bath with tub.

The second floor is where most of our guests spend their indoor time. We have wall to wall windows looking out to the Gulf with a sliding glass door to the second story deck. Our deck, which provides beach access, has enough room for your entire group to enjoy. Here you will also find the living room with a queen sofa sleeper, love seat & chair, the dining room & bar area and our nicely equipped kitchen which includes stainless appliances and solid surface counter tops. We also have a powder room off of the kitchen for your convenience.

The bottom level has another living area with a sleeper sofa and bunk beds along with a wall mounted TV. The laundry area is also located here. The final room on the bottom floor is another queen bedroom with an en suite full bathroom. This queen bedroom has sliding glass doors to another balcony with beach access.

We also have a deck at the beach level where you can store your beach items and wash the sand off after a great day in the sand and sun.

We are sure you will be snapping pictures and sending them back home to your friends and family not luck enough to be there right beside you.

We are a pet friendly home with prior owner approval only. There is a size and number of pet restrictions.

About Marla

Our jobs relocated us to the panhandle of Florida in 2008. We knew as soon as we saw The Emerald Coast, we wanted our own home at the beach.

Marla purchased this townhome in 2012

Why Marla chose Miramar Beach

We chose Sanddollar primarily because it is Gulf front. We also loved the central location in Miramar Beach. Once you get your groceries, you really do not have to get back into your car unless you want to, and yet you can still get out and experience, some of the local favorites in Miramar Beach.

Our group had a blast!

We just got home last week and are more than ready to go back! Our group of three families had plenty of room to make ourselves at home. The house came well stocked with everything you need from kitchen items to sand toys! I would suggest to a future renter to be aware of the steps. It wasn't a problem for us (even with a 1 year old), but I wouldn't have wanted my parents to have to climb or go down them. Also, the parking was a little tight! We had 3 midsize SUVS and had issues fitting everyone in. Marla was great to work with and answered any questions we had quickly! We had an amazing vacation!

Pet Friendly? Yes. People Friendly? -?-

Pet friendly places are rare in Walton County and this is the first time I've ever stayed in one, so keep this in mind when you read my review.

I'll start with the positives.

Marla, the property manager was very easy to work with and very helpful throughout our stay. I discussed with her some of the things I've written in this review and I think she will do what she can to make some quick fixes. But I do hope the owner will read this review and invest a little TLC in this property. There's potential greatness here.

View is beautiful, location is excellent, beach is right outside your door. Kitchen appliances, laundry brand new. Brand new, lovely living room furniture was delivered during our stay and it's vinyl so it won't hold pet (or people) odors.

Now the not so positives. The place smelled better the minute the old furniture was carried away, but there is a lot more smelly furniture and worn mattresses that need to be replaced.

The unit was clean on the surface, except the coverlet on the king bed, which stank of people, not pets. But the sheets were clean so the coverlet and pillow covers were an easy fix. Since clean is important to me, I looked in the corners. They were not clean. The place does not look or feel clean, overall and here is why.

The bath towels and washcloths were yellowed with stain and age, and worn, except the colored ones, which were full of bleach spots! The bedding, with the exception of the queen bed upstairs is also old and worn. The furniture is vintage (but not enough to be charming) and chipped although functional.

There were a couple of basic kitchen items that I could not find. In 30 years of staying in South Walton vacation rentals I've never been in one that didn't have a pizza cutter and a pizza pan. And a can opener should be standard equipment in a pet friendly place, right? There were plenty of pots and pans, and plenty of cheap plastic serving bowls and dishes (none pizza size), along with ice trays that were broken. The dishes were worn plastic and old. All very unappetizing. The new coffee maker made excellent coffee, but my drinking pleasure was eclipsed by the old worn out plastic mugs.

Because it's pet friendly the owner probably has no trouble keeping this condo rented, but with a small investment (maybe two week's worth of summer rent, not much in the greater scheme of things) he could make it people friendly also.

Marla was very pleasant to work with during the booking process. She quickly responds to messages even after we have returned home. The unit itself has undergone many updates, which we appreciated, but the stair treads and railing inside still need some love. Like others have mentioned, the stairs going down to the beach are pretty steep but they weren’t really an issue for us. Parking is tight for every unit in the complex so don’t plan on parking many cars there. We only had one so there was plenty of room as long as we parked directly in the center of the spot. The only real issue we had is the musty smell of the unit the minute we stepped through the door. We didn’t think much of it until our sinuses started flaring. We opted to buy some Febreeze and went on with our vacation. By mid-week, mold was growing on the dining room table and placemats which are directly under an air vent. All-in-all the unit is nice but there must be an issue within the HVAC system. We informed Marla about the mold and she said the owner would look into it.

Excellent location!

There is nothing like being right on the beach! The house is clean and well maintained with plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and 2 children. Marla was very easy to work with and very responsive to our questions. Parking is super tight so if you are driving larger cars you may end up having to park down the street. Not too long a walk but not our favorite part of our stay. The house is located close to everything. The beach is perfect and we appreciated not being in a public area. The bottom deck is great for afternoon reading and relaxing. Would recommend that the owners upgrade the coffee pot to a Keurig.

Our home in Sanddollar is conveniently located in Miramar Beach, FL. From the beach side of our home heading west, you can easily walk to a locals' favorite restaurant/bar, Pompano Joe's. At Pompano Joe's you can enjoy Happy Hour, live music or a friendly game of volley ball. Heading east down the beach, you can easily walk to another beach front restaurant/bar, Whale's Tail. From the street side of our home, you can walk or bicycle to Alvin's Island (a local beach shop), a winery and a local coffee company. We are located an easy drive from a newly built & expanded Winn Dixie. Once you get your groceries, you really never have to get back into the car!

Refundable damage deposit $500
Pet Fee $75 + Tax
Cleaning Fee $225 + Tax

We do not rent to Spring Break groups, neither high school groups with 1 or 2 parents or college groups. During Spring Break season (Feb 25-April 20), we require a copy of your photo ID upon booking. We reserve the right to require a copy of each traveler's photo ID during this time as well. Once a reservation is accepted, we will call you to discuss your party. We reserve the right to cancel the reservation after acceptance with a full refund after we speak on the phone.
All bookings during peak season are 7 night stays, Saturday to Saturday.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
