Newly remodeled garden in-law apartment in Sunset with ample parking

Overview

About the property

This is the perfect spot in San Francisco if you want to stay in a quieter neighborhood away from downtown. It is a newly remodeled 1 bedroom with brand new wood floors, a queen bed, new pull out queen couch (if you have kids), as well as a brand new stainless steel refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. Kitchen has all needed cooking items (pots, pans, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, etc. The apartment has a private entrance and a sliding glass door that opens onto the yard.

There is free laundry on site. The apartment has a TV with cable, HBO and other premium channels as well as internet.

We are located right off Sunset Blvd. and thus always have ample parking right across from the house, a rarity in San Francisco. There are no parking permits required for this neighborhood. It is only a 20 minute walk down to the beach and is the perfect place to explore the city or go on day trips to the north bay, wine country, Muir Woods, Tamalpias, Sausalito, Half Moon Bay, or Point Reyes. We are very close to Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, Baker Beach, the San Francisco Zoo, Sutro Baths, and Lands End. (Lands End is my favorite spot in the city. It has a gorgeous walk along the cliffs with views of Marine Headlands and the Golden Gate Bridge).

I would highly recommend that you have a car at our location, but if you don't have a car or want to do some exploring downtown without it, we also have public transportation right out the door:

29 bus leaves out the door and goes through Golden Gate Park out to Baker Beach to the north and to Mclaren Park to the south.

48 bus is right on the corner and goes west to Ocean Beach and east, it goes over Portola then through the heart of Noe Valley and the Mission on 24th St. (does not run on weekends)

The L Muni train leaves from 2 blocks away and goes all the way to the Embarcadero, passing through the Castro and Downtown along Market St.

Clean and Cozy

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay - about a mile south of Golden Gate Park and about a mile inland from the ocean. We were able to walk to the park, the ocean, the grocery, and a number of restaurants in the neighborhood. Laura and Jim were kind and gracious hosts, always available for questions and leaving us lots of room to be on our own. When we return to San Francisco, we look forward to staying here again.

Great Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in the garden apartment. We had everything we could possibly need. The apt. is exceptionally nice & clean, well decorated & comfortable.

Laura was quick to answer any questions we had. Would definitely stay again if in San Francisco.

Very comfortable apartment in a quiet neighbourhood, convenient for getting everywhere by public tea

  • 5 of 5

Laura very helpful and friendly but never intrusive. Well appointed apartment with an extremely comfortable bed. We shopped locally for groceries and caught the train(tram in England!) or bus everywhere, only €1 a go as we are seniors, there are a few advantages to getting older. Near the sea in a quiet residential area and plenty of free parking on the road outside. If we ever return to San Francisco we would definitely stay here again. Thank you Laura.

Excellent apartment

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect place to stay. It's close enough to everything we wanted to do and a lot less expensive than a hotel room of the same quality; for example, free parking and a full kitchen making breakfast cost about $2 instead of $10 - Safeway supermarket 9 blocks away. The amenities as shown on the VRBO website were sufficient enough to save us packing a lot of stuff.

We used Muni and walked across the Golden Gate Bridge. We drove 45 minutes to Muir Woods. We used Lyft ($20) to get to a not-to-safe part of town. We drove a loop down to Santa Cruz and back.

Laure, the friendly and helpful owner, met us and showed us around. We highly recommend her nicely remodeled downstairs apartment.

Superb!!

  • 5 of 5

My adult daughter & I absolutely loved staying here. Our in-law apt was adorable, updated & cozy. Our "landlord", Laura, was very friendly & accommodating, even being so kind as to gift us with a bottle of wine in addition to having great reading materials & sightseeing pamphlets available for us to peruse. The apt was in very close proximity to where my son lived & he felt so comfortable at our apt we tended to spend most evenings there if we weren't out on the town. I am hoping to be able to rent from Laura during future trips to San Francisco to visit my son.

Thanks so much!!
