You will love eating in any of the highly rated restaurants on Beach Dr where you will find this to be very lovely with the lighted trees in the evening. Owner's Poor customer service and safety

This was our 2016 Easter vacation in March. We were visiting from Ohio and this is not the first time we have stayed at Coquina Key-Water side. Our daughter has a condo here too. We love the property facilities, clubhouse, waterside pool, hot tub. We also enjoy the convenient short drive to St Pete beach, restaurants and sunsets too. Previous correspondence with Shelley (owner/manager) and conversations over phone seemed that she was sincere and led us to believe she would be helpful. This was far from the truth all we got from her was empty promises. Our first day, we arrived later that night. Within the first hour at the condo, we had our first issue. When turning off the only light in the bedroom, (25w lamp on the night-stand), it shorted out in the wall socket and the electrical service breaker released saving my wife from a serious electrical shock. This one 15amp breaker is wired for 3 out of the 4 rooms in the condo, so the only working light available was in the Kitchen until I found the service panel to reset the breaker. I emailed and left messages on Shelley’s phone the next the morning, she finally called me back in the afternoon and had promised to drop off a new lamp by the next day “Good Friday”, but we did not receive a call, email or the light she promised to drop off. Meanwhile on Friday and Saturday, I found several additional electrical wall sockets that were very loose and could possibly cause an electrical short and/or possible inner wall fire. We avoided using any of these 6 wall sockets, in fear of causing another short or fire. All these issues should have been addressed when the condo was inspected and setup prior to our 8 day stay. The maintenance man finally arrived on Tuesday morning (6 days after I called Shelley). This was only after I had to again call and email her Monday morning, totally disgusted with her non-response for our call for help. To date, Shelley has never thanked me for bringing these safety issues to her knowledge or offered any compensation for our safety and lack of bedroom light for 6 out 7 nights of our stay. I have emailed her several times asking to be refunded our prepaid cleaning fee, since the condo was not inspected and all safety issues fixed prior to our arrival. Shelley has not responded to any of my emails or requests. I have never had an owner/manager provide such poor customer service in all of the many vacation homes I have rented in Florida, Italy, California and Hawaii.

A Beautiful Escape

complex was nice

The drive to the complex was a little scary, the neighborhood out side the gated community was very seedy. When we got to our apartment the first thing we noticed was the view of the water was obscured by over grown bushes. We were on the first floor and the bushes need to be cut at least 2 feet. The place beside us was cut down for the view. We had no curtains so we put a sheet over the windows at night, as people would walk by. We noticed when we walked around the area we were the only residence without curtains in back , first or second floor. Inside the house there was only one table lamp in living area and one in bedroom, both had a 25 watt light bulb , we went out and bought better lights to read. We were the only place without a grill outside would have been nice.

We liked the property facilities, clubhouse, pool, hot tub, laundry mat, and health club. We went to St Pete beaches and enjoyed the sunsets. You had to drive about five miles to get to nice restaurants and the city or 7 miles to the beach.

I would like a larger place in better location if I came down again .

Lovely location, great complex, need a bit of TLC and thought.

I spent a week at this property with my son over the Christmas holidays and really enjoyed the amenities of the Complex and the situation on the waterway, close to downtown St. Pete. It was even warm enough to swim in the pools. The apartment was clean, well maintained and very quiet. The owner was very helpful and easily reachable by phone. However I was rather disappointed in the facilities in the apartment itself. Cooking in the kitchen was rather difficult without a cutting board, vegetable peeler or decent pans (there were only 2 pans, one of which was a tiny frying pan.) There was no kettle, and no oven proof casserole dishes. It was rather thoughtless that there was no hair dryer in the apartment (important for overseas visitors who don't bring electrical appliances due to the voltage difference.

The living room only had one overhead light, no standard lamp for a softer atmosphere. My son was sleeping on the sofa bed, which had a very thin mattress on it, extremely uncomfortable. There was no outside furniture to sit outside and eat.

The security at the gate are very disorganized. They apparently had no information about our arrival although the owner assured me she had informed them exactly when we would arrive. Frustrating when it's Christmas eve and you have events to go to and have travelled a long way. All of the above can be easily rectified - then the experience in this apt will be quite different one. Hopefully my efforts have not been in vain. Sabana
