About Victoria and Todd H
Victoria and Todd. We loved the area for its nature, mountains and myriad things to do. And because unlike in Florida, you can actually enjoy seasons here! We are avid DIY-ers, but running construction/remodeling project from 700 miles away put us to the test! The photo was taken on snowy Christmas 2010 when the cabin was almost complete.
Victoria and Todd H purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Victoria and Todd H chose Pigeon Forge
When we first saw the cabin, it has been a distressed foreclosed property that sat empty and stripped of all fixtures for a couple of years. There was no water, no lights, no interior doors, no air or heat, no sinks, no faucets, no doors, and the list goes on and on. Despite all that, the soaring ceilings with exposed beams, light filled interior and spacious rooms looked promising. We loved the quiet street with just a few cabins on it, the large yard, and the location that is far enough to provide seclusion yet close enough to have all the attractions within easy reach. We had to overcome our fears of getting into a classic "money pit" situation and we had poured in all of our resources - physical, emotional and monetary - for the next year and a half to restore the Blue Mountain Lodge. We have gone beyond just mere restoring the cabin - in years since we have been adding upgrades like awnings above front and back porch, gutters, water filtration system, new walkway and many others.
What makes this Cabin unique
Blue Mountain Lodge offers abundance of space and the interior layout that suits multiple couples or families well. Ample gently rolling property provides uncrowded and private feel, yet there is easy access by paved roads to all the area attractions and amenities. The cabin has plenty of indoor and outdoor space and parking to accommodate large groups. Great for the kids too, because unlike many other cabins, there are no steep drop offs outside. The cabin is in the vicinity of the Arts & Crafts District, which is a quaint area with lots of small family-run artisan shops - you don't even have to buy, just go in and talk with the kind folks - they are very friendly people. There is easy access to Pigeon Forge as well! We take pride in knowing that families can create wonderful memories to last a lifetime while staying at Blue Mountain Lodge. Please know we will do everything possible to make sure you have a great vacation in the Smokies!

Had the things we needed
We had 4 couples and 2 teenagers. There was plenty of room for everyone. The beds are really comfortable. The cabin has a kureg and a regular coffee pot. There is good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The AC worked great. The roads to the cabin are not bad. Although narrow and winding in spots, everything is paved. One of our couples came in a small sedan and had no problem getting there. It was easy to get to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and it was nice that the cabin is away from those busy areas. If I had to make any suggestions they would be to bring towels for the hot tub and bring some bottled water if you are not used to well water. Since the cabin is solid wood, you can hear others moving about in other rooms and upstairs. This wasn't a huge issue for us. The place is beautiful and I will highly reccomend it.
Blue Mountain Lodge
Wonderfully maintained cabin. We loved that it had the feeling of being isolated without actually being without neighbors. Within relatively easy driving distance to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the National Park. I will say that the road in is not for the timid driver but taken slow and sober is doable! Everything from confirmation to check in and check out went smoothly. I highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet place to spend some days!
Thank you so much, we look forward to hosting your family again at one of our bluemountaincabins in the future! Victoria and Todd.
MY FAMILY AND I HAVE BEEN VACATIONING IN THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS FOR 30+ YEARS AND HAVE RENTED CABINS/CHALETS IN MANY OF THE SMOKY MTN AREAS DEPENDING ON WHAT ACTIVITIES WE WANTED TO BE CLOSE TO. I AM SO GLAD WE CHOSE BLUE MOUNTAIN LODGE THIS YEAR FOR OUR VACATION.
EVERYTHING YOU SEE ONLINE FOR THE BLUE MOUNTAIN LODGE IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WILL GET UPON YOUR ARRIVAL. EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN AND IN WORKING ORDER. IF YOU LIKE PEACE AND QUIET IN YOUR SURROUNDINGS YOU WILL LOVE THE CABIN!
WE TOOK A VERY SPECIAL AND MEANINGFUL TRIP THRU CADE's COVE, SOMETHING WE HAVE DONE SINCE OUR FIRST SMOKY MTN VISIT.
AFTER A BIT OF MANEUVERING UP/DOWN THE ROADWAY TO/FROM THE CABIN THE ACCESS TO SHOPPING, OR FUN IS EVERYWHERE. MY FAMILY ENJOYS THE GLADES LOOP TOUR, THE ISLAND, SEVIERVILLE, PIGEON FORGE, AND A TRIP EVERYDAY TO GATLINBURG. I THINK WE HIT EVERY RESTAURANT AND SHOP, NOT TO MENTION A SIDE TRIP TO CHEROKEE, NC TO HARRAH's CASINO.
WENT TO SEE THE NEW PIRATES VOYAGE DINNER SHOW, AWESOME!!
WENT WHITEWATER RAFTING!!
NASCAR SPEEDPARK, SEVERAL TIMES!
VIISITED MOONSHINE LOCATIONS!!
SPECIAL DINNER AT THE OLD MILL RESTAURANT AND SPECIAL LUNCH AT WILD PLUM TEA ROOM, TWO OF OUR FAVORITES!!!
SPENT 3 HOURS TOURING THE ALCATRAZ MUSEUM, SOMETHING EVERYONE SHOULD PLAN ON DOING.
WE ALL LOVED OUR STAY AT BLUE MOUNTAIN LODGE MAINLY BECAUSE IT WAS NOT IN THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE AREAS OF THE SMOKY's BUT BECAUSE IT WAS IN BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS AND QUIET!! SERENITY!!!
Great for Our Group of 8
Beautiful home with plenty of room for our 8. The kids enjoyed game room area, and the adults loved getting up and drinking coffee on the balcony. We stayed for 9 days and did have to purchase necessities like extra toilet paper/paper towels (They provided two rolls per bathroom each and two rolls of paper towels) as well as toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, pump soap, etc. (Round bar soap was included). We purchased wood and made smores in the fire pit, which the kids loved. The cabin is near the art district in Sieverville, (beautiful pottery) approx. 20-25 minutes from the attractions in town, a little over an hour from Cades Cove (Don't miss), and about 45 minutes from tubing in Townsend. It was nice getting away from tourists like us at the end of the day. =D Would definitely recommend to others.
Spring break stay
Overall, it was great! The hot tub didn’t look inviting. The water looked green and felt slimy on our hands when we felt it.
Thank you for your feedback. We take our property upkeep and maintenance very seriously. If guests have any concerns we always advise to contact us immediately upon arrival giving us chance to address any concerns. Hot tub water is dumped, hot tub is cleaned and refilled before each new stay. Well water after the rains contains a lot of iron that can give it brownish appearance. When housekeepers refill the hot tub, they add clarifier and resulting sediment is usually filtered out given a chance to run cycles.
Beautiful, family-friendly home
We had an excellent stay at Blue Mountain Lodge. Only 10 minutes from the Arts and Crafts community and 20 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg it still felt remote and peaceful! We loved the deck, hot tub, and firepit, and the foosball coffee table was a great touch that was fun for both kids and adults. Very good value for the money. Make sure to review the rental contract to bring necessities, since only starter supplies of toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. are provided. Great rental for friends or family of any age.
We are so glad that you had an excellent stay. Please keep bluemountaincabins in mind for your future Smokies vacations and enjoy repeat guest perks! Victoria and Todd
Located on semi private lot, on a street with just a few cabins that are all unique and set on sizable lots. There are acres of woods behind the cabin. You will not have a street-full of cookie-cutter cabins 10 feet from you. Close to Arts and Crafts area, Glades Road and easy access to Pigeon Forge as well.
