About Mary Chiles

We lived all over the world growing up but always returned to Cape Cod in the summer.

Our house in Centerville is a wonderful gathering place for our family and is a place where happy memories are made.

Mary Chiles purchased this house in 2005

Why Mary Chiles chose Cape Cod

We chose this property because of it's proximity to the beach and it's tranquil setting above a beautiful marsh and the atmosphere of family and children everywhere . We love the proximity to beach activities and the feeling of privacy as you look out on the breathtaking views.

What makes this house unique

The property is perfect for wandering back and forth to Craigville Beach or up to the center of historic Centerville where you can order a lobster roll or homemade ice cream at Four Seas ,and visit the Centerville Library, a small convenience shop and walk through historic settings.

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home in August for our family vacation. We had 6 adults and 3 children staying in the home and had a lovely time. There are 2 master suites, one upstairs/one downstairs, both with king beds. 2 additional upstairs bedrooms have double beds, one small child bedroom downstairs with twin bed. We all managed sharing 2 full and 1 half bathrooms. Kitchen is very well equipped with pots, utensils, glasses, plates etc. which made cooking in easy. Grateful that the bedrooms all had window a/c units since the weather was in the 90s. Downstairs area had a breeze that made it tolerable. The gardens of the home are beautiful and the view of the marsh is very relaxing and enjoyable to sit outside. Within a short 5 minute walk, you can be at the beach or to local ice cream at 4 Seas. Cape Cod is a favorite vacation destination for our yearly family reunion and we were very happy renting this home, it has a great location in addition to being clean and well cared for inside and out.

Beautiful home, perfect location

  • 4 of 5

The photos don't lie: The home is gorgeous, with drop-dead views from the many back porches, and a short walk to Cragiville Beach. The home owners parking pass means you can access the main lot, or - with a little sleuthing - you might find a spot in one of the (much) smaller lots that are on one of the side roads (Long Beach Road). The beaches are more pristine.. and quieter (and smaller!) on this side road, but it is worth it take a look The home is a short walk to Four Seas Ice Cream (we went virtually every day), and a short drive to Fancy's Market: the location is truly hard to beat. And at least one of us jumped off the bridge between the house and teh beach every day - lots of fun!

The interior of the house is well appointed, and clean - with a decent sized kitchen as well. Two master bedrooms - means that two families (or an extended family) should easily be able to share this home.

Some minor complaints: The TV runs through the internet, and the internet reception / wifi was spotty.. so it meant that during the few occassions when we tried to stream a movie or TV show, we would have bufferering delays. Also: It was a particualrly hot / humid week when we were there, (end of July) and most of the window air conditioning units are located in the second floor bedrooms (one can be found in a first floor master bedroom.) This meant that most nights, if we were congregating in one of the many first floor living / dining spaces, that it was a bit too humid to fully enjoy the property.

Mary was very responsive and helpful - so apart from the two issues mentioend above, i would recommend staying here to any group, young or old.

I Could Get Use To This

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family enjoyed our memory making vacation at 1199 Craigville Beach Road. The house is the perfect combo plate of restored Cape Cod charm in an idyllic and convenient setting. Two master suites make it easy for a joint family vacation. We walked to the beach in the morning and Four Seas at night. The multiple porches that look out on the salt marsh were an unexpected treat and a great place to begin and end your day.
