About Lisa Puls
Bob and I are lifelong Florida residents, living and working in Fort Myers, which is located on the gulf coast about 125 miles south of Tampa. Bob is an accountant and I am a Realtor. We have 3 grown children; one of which lives near Waynesville.
Lisa Puls purchased this House in 2013
Why Lisa Puls chose Waynesville
Our family has been vacationing in North Carolina since 1996, in hopes of having a summer home someday. 2013, Bob and I we were able to realize our dream. Waynesville was a perfect fit; not too big, but has lots to do and a hospital (we're not getting any younger!). Convenient to all of western NC. Our elevation is high enough to enjoy cool summer days (usually!). We really wanted a log home and fell in love with Forget Me Not immediately! We've learned quite a bit the last 4 years about mountain living; the drives are a bit longer, our walks are much more strenuous, yard work is our workout, and chopping wood can be fun once you get the hang of it! We had to get a home phone, as our cell phones don't work very well (texting works). At 3900 feet, the stars flood the sky, the quiet darkness of night makes for a great night's sleep. The friendly folks of Waynesville have made this a perfect second home.
What makes this House unique
With each of the 3 bedrooms on a different floor, guests will have plenty of personal space, as well as their own full bathroom and living area with flat screen TV. The home's stunning timber staircase is the focal point of the main level. The stonework on the fireplaces and kitchen island bring in the natural beauty of the mountains. The view from the deck into the valley is lovely. The sitting area with wood-burning fireplace is one of my favorite spots in the house, along with the loveseat in the living room where I drink my morning coffee watching sun come over the mountains.

We Won't Forget
Lisa and Bob have a wonderful property. Each of the 3 bedrooms are on separate floors and have their own bathrooms. The view of the mountain and valley was spectacular from the cabin, and we were lucky enough to experience peak colors for the fall leaves.
Privacy was not an issue as the cabin is surrounded by trees. The kitchen was huge and provided a great area to cook for a larger group. There were no problems with the high-speed internet access. Our family had a wonderful trip, and we all feel that this cabin really made the experience one we won't forget...
Hi Chris, Thank you for the kind words. I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay! Yes, your timing was perfect to enjoy the fall colors this year; they were a bit later than usual. I invite you and your family to come back again! Enjoy the upcoming holidays. Lisa
Forget Me Not was everything and more
This was such a beautiful house set in the beautiful landscape of the Smoky Mountains. The fall leaves were Golden’s and hues of reds. The house log cabin feel set even more of a beautiful trip. My family enjoyed everything about the house. My son nine thoroughly enjoyed the pool table and fuse ball. My daughter loved going up and down all three flights of stairs. Lisa and Dave have a beautiful home. It met all of my families expectations. We will be returning again in the future.
I’m so happy you all enjoyed the house, Laura. Your kind words are very appreciated and we welcome you back next year! Have a wonderful holiday season. All the best, Lisa
We had a great stay in the cabin. Highly recommend.
Hi William, I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed the cabin and the western Carolina mountains! I hope you all will consider staying with us again if your travels take you back this way.
All the best,
This was a great mountain retreat with all the amenities. Great location, views, and ambiance.
Thank you Eric! I'm glad you and your family enjoyed our home. We would love to have you back again if your travels bring you this way!
Beautiful property with very clean cabin. Perfect place to get away and enjoy the great outdoors.
My family stayed here in June and fell in love with the cabin and Waynesville. Lisa made us feel very welcomed and was so helpful with information on local fourth of July festivities. The cabin was well decorated, very clean and comfortable. We have four children and there was plenty for them to do. The front porch became a favorite place in the evenings to watch lightning bugs and grill trout caught in Bryson City. Waynesville is a cute little town with great shopping, eating, and a fabulous playground for the kids. It is close enough for day trips to both Asheville and Bryson City.
The views from the cabin are great and make you want to spend time outside. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the special touch of having local Hazlewood soap in the bathrooms and kitchen. The driveway did take a little getting used to because of how steep it is, but after a few times we were comfortable with it. Thank you to Lisa for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Hi Amy, I'm so glad to hear you and your family enjoyed our home. It sounds like you kept busy! I've never grilled trout before; maybe I'll give it a try next time we are up there! Enjoy the rest of your summer. If your travels bring you back to our neck of the woods, I'd love for you to stay with us again! Lisa
