Overview

About the property

Come have a relaxing getaway with family or friends at our little house on a hill -just an hour from the city, or an easy train ride to the Cold Spring or Beacon train stops. Explore our 11 acres of woodland (wear boots, its a hike) and then kick back in our shaded sitting areas, or in the comfortable living room. Throw some food on the grill and enjoy a meal on the patio. Or whip up something special in the newly renovated kitchen with high end appliances and fully stocked ware. Sleeping in any of the four contemporary bedrooms shouldn't be a problem on this property; its nice and quiet, and dark -you'll actually see stars! And of course no relaxing, or activity, is complete without freshening up; the house has two bathrooms, one with a spacious shower and one in the finished basement with a Jacuzzi tub.

Take the exploring off the property to an area full of diverse activities. Hiking, biking, birding, and swimming at the lake beach in beautiful Fahnestock State Park -just minutes away. Go antiquing, or just spend the day on historic Main Street, in Cold Spring. Get inspired by fabulous art at Dia:Beacon and Stormking, both a quick drive. Pick your own fruit and vegitables, apples the obvious fall favorite, from one of the many farms (Fishkill Farms's apples cider doughnuts can't be beat). And this is only a taste of all that the Hudson Valley has to offer, much more hiking and biking, kayaking, golf, restaurants, and theater there to be discovered.

The house has free WiFi so you'll have every opportunity to plan a perfect getaway. And stream a movie when its time to put the feet up.

A wonderful stay with friends and family!

  • 5 of 5

A quiet beautiful location, with a well maintained lawn and old trees, enough space either to get together or find your own spot for reading - outdoors terraces are fantastic! We love to cook, and the kitchen is wonderfully stocked with any gadget we could think of.

Thank you for sharing your space! The only regret is that we didn't stay for 3 nights instead of 2. Well, wish the house were a bit more affordable - we splurged for a celebration, everyone in our party loved it!

My family and I enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I enjoyed our stay! It was easy to enter the house and it is very kid friendly. The beds were comfortable and all but one room lead to a balcony or patio. The house was clean for the most part except for the furniture covers having a couple stains. The owner responded quickly when we had any questions. We did find it strange that the house didn't have small things like wash cloths, broom, iron or ironing board. But the owner was willing to make accommodations. The neighborhood was peaceful and the views were great! Overall I was happy with the rental!

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed the week of our wedding, we were stressed finding a place large enough to stay with family coming from all over the country. Elizabeths home was just the right size and was a great place for our family to relax and enjoy our time in NY. Thank you

wonderful!

Wonderful experience. The house was beautiful, the area is gorgeous, and is really close to Beacon (Dia:Beacon is epic). Everything was as advertised and beyond, and Liz was a pleasure to work with. Great stay, great place.

Wonderful escape for small groups

  • 5 of 5

Our group of six really enjoyed our stay here. The open layout lended well to a couple of great evenings cooking together with the fully stocked kitchen. Everything was cozy and comfortable, including the beds. It's a little ways outside of town, but we were looking for nature and the house is surrounded by it with large windows in case of bad weather. I wouldn't hesitate recommending to other guests looking to get out of the city for a weekend.
