Welcome to a piece of paradise on the Long Island Sound! This beautiful Cape Cod home features water views from a large, private porch and is just mere steps away from a private beach. Situated on a large, secluded lot with ample off-street parking equipped for 2-3 cars, this home comfortably sleeps 6 and features two full bathrooms.
Nestled in the historic, private beach community of Neptune Park, the house is deeded to a serene, private stretch of beach with spectacular open views of the Long Island Sound. Sit on the white, sandy beach and see the famous Ledge Light Lighthouse, or better yet, take a tour of as many as 6 historic lighthouses aboard the high speed ferry that docks just out of downtown New London! Take a day trip aboard the ferry to beautiful Block Island, Fisher’s Island, or even Montauk, NY.
The house is also close to many other attractions, including both major Connecticut casinos, as well as many landmark Connecticut theaters, such as The O’Neill Theatre and The Garde Arts Theatre. Interested in a little sight seeing? In just 20-30 minutes, you could find yourself in either neighboring Mystic, CT or Watch Hill, RI. Take a trip to the aquarium, or stroll through any of the wonderful shops and restaurants in each respective place.
The first floor of the home features both an open living room and dining room, with french doors leading to a large and private wrap-around porch. The dining room seats six, and the porch seats ten, easily. The kitchen is large, light, and airy, and includes an eat-in area that seats four. It is a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, however there is no oven, only a cooktop. There is a gas grill on the porch that makes for excellent dinners on the porch. The kitchen includes all pots and pans, cutlery, and other useful kitchen items. There is a laundry closet just off the kitchen, as well as a substantial pantry and a full sized bathroom with sizable shower. The living room has a large HD TV, a DVD player, and wireless internet. The home does not have Cable, however it does include Apple TV, which grants full access to Netflix and Hulu.
The second floor has three bedrooms, a loft area for reading, and a full sized bathroom. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, a double closet and a cozy corner chair for reading. Sleep with the windows open and you will go to sleep listening to the waves of the Sound. The second bedroom has a full sized bed and is marked by a gorgeous portrait window with a beautiful view. It has a large walk-in closet and chest of drawers for ample storage. The third bedroom has a queen sized bed, two full closets, and has plenty of room for cribs and pack and plays as well. The bathroom features a large shower that is also wheelchair accessible.
The home is a year-round home equipped with heat, so if you are interested in spending a beautiful Fall or Winter weekend or holiday in Connecticut, this is your chance! This warm, family-friendly home was built for both a romantic getaway or a cozy family vacation.
Linens are included in the home, in addition to blankets and towels. Beach chairs, sand toys, laundry facilities and paper products are also included. Renters should note, however, that laundry products (detergents, etc.) are NOT provided, as well as any toiletry items or food items. Renters are expected to provide all of these items on their own and are not permitted to use any products found at the home belonging to the home owner.
We ask our guests to kindly understand that they are renting a family home that the homeowners do occupy when there are not any guests renting. This means that guests will find various personal items belonging to the homeowners and their family at the home, and these items are not to be disturbed or used. While we certainly make it a point to move all personal items out of the way from guests, they are not completely removed from the house. It is understood that by accepting a reservation to our home that guests acknowledge and agree to leave all personal items (to include toiletry items and pantry items) undisturbed.
Please note that we cannot accept college students, or rent to anyone under the age of 25. Prior to approval, renters will have to read through and sign a document that acknowledges and accepts all rules of the house and the Neptune Park Association. Among these rules, renters will be required to provide their driver's license numbers as well as license plate numbers prior to arrival as per the rules of the Neptune Park Beach Association. Renters are not permitted to have additional guests at the home that have not provided this information prior to arrival. Should guests be found in violation of this rule, unauthorized visitors will be considered to be trespassing. There are no exceptions to this rule.
There is absolutely NO SMOKING allowed in the house, and pets are not considered.
