2 bedroom apartment in Trastevere / AirConditioning / Washer / Dryer / Wifi
In one of the quietest areas of the borough of Trastevere, just a few steps away from the heart of this vibrant neighborhood, Casa San Francesco is a real jewel set at the very center of Rome, located on the second floor of a building dating back to 1912.
In spite of the lively atmosphere of the district and its characteristic alleys, this is very much a peaceful spot, which the owner still enjoys living in from time to time. Therefore, compared to other similar apartments in the area, her personal touches in the decor and furnishing of the flat are very much one of the defining features of this accommodation.
The apartment was recently renovated to include a second bathroom, and an existing kitchenette was replaced by an actual kitchen, in order to have a bigger living room and, more importantly, to meet the demands of Casa San Francesco's many guests throughout the years.
Casa San Francesco is a spacious apartment composed by living room, kitchen, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms that can accommodate up to 4 people. Please enjoy a Jacuzzi shower in one of the bathrooms and know that one double bed can easily be adapted to two twin beds, should you be traveling with your little ones. The newly built kitchen features all appliances, ready for you to prepare all your meals from scratch while in Rome!
One of Casa San Francesco's many advantages is the relative distance between the bedrooms, so that every guest can fully enjoy their privacy: with the structural changes, the second bathroom definitely adds to the uniqueness of the setting. You will no doubt love the extra space as well as the tranquility of this corner of Trastevere and, last but not least, the luminous spaces, with natural light flooding the Casa for much part of the day.
The flat comes with a ceiling fan in the living room and A/C in both bedrooms, plus a washing machine and a dryer tucked away in a convenient closet.

Lovely home in beautiful walkable location. Away from all the crowds but close enough to get to all
Our host was wonderful and kind. The apartment is well decorated. I loved the record player with all kinds of classic music. The location was down a quite road but accessible within minutes to food and fun. Able to walk to most all the major sites like the Forum, colosseum, Trevi. We did a cooking school literally 1 block away and was one of the highlights of the trip. Definitely recommend staying here.
A beautiful oasis in Rome
My husband and I stayed in this apartment for four nights in April. We were greeted by the owner, Cecelia, who graciously showed us the apartment and how to work every appliance. The place is absolutely immaculate and the decor is tasteful and intriguing. The abundance of windows provide ample light and air, making the apartment feel very roomy and cozy. The bathrooms are modern, clean, and fully functional. Cecelia even provided us with a cell phone to be used for contacting her, or getting assistance in any kind of emergency.
The apartment is located on the outskirts of Trastevere, close enough to walk to the cafes and stores, yet far enough to avoid the noise of the streets and pedestrians. I bought food and cooked, and fully enjoyed the modern, well-equipped kitchen. It was especially fun to shop at the outside produce market in Trastevere where one finds organic fruits and vegetables, pasta, cheese, meat and fish.
The bedrooms are extremely comfortable. We slept in the master bedroom which has a nice firm mattress and plenty of closet space.
Unfortunately, my husband became ill while we were in Rome and we were forced to cut our trip short and return to the U.S. Cecelia was extremely kind and helpful in getting her helper, Luigi, to assist us on an early Sunday morning as we checked out. He even arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the apartment. I can only hope that we are able to return to Rome very soon -- we will definitely stay in the Trastevere apartment again.
As a side-note: I highly recommend having the driver pick you up at the airport or train station. His help was worth every euro we paid! Not having to track down a taxi was such a relief after the long trek from Los Angeles.
Lovely and full of light
This was a lovely apartment, just as pictured. It was a bit of a walk to the heart of Trastevere. In fact, it’s just beyond the gate and is more properly in Janiculum. But the trade-off is that it’s bright and quiet.
Light-filled, cheerful, spotless; As a frequent visitor to Rome this has been my best!
Cecilia and her husband were gracious hosts, welcoming and very helpful with every detail to be expected on a stay in Rome. The apartment was delightful: light filled, spacious and cheery with a wonderful ambience. The location in the city is ideal for those who wish to be close to everything and yet have the peace of a quiet street with the green Janiculum hill as a back drop. I hope to be a frequent visitor.
Together for Christmas in Rome
My husband, our two adult sons and I celebrated Christmas in this lovely, perfect apartment. We could not have asked for more. The warmest of welcomes from Cecilia and Gudrun, working with Emmanuele & Sara at From Home to Rome, our exceptional tour guide Chiara, and the reliable drivers to and from the airport all contributed to our unforgettable holiday. There was even a small Christmas tree we lit every morning and evening, which we fondly called “Spelacchio”. It is a peaceful oasis.
