Property was spacious and very clean and organized. Beautiful view of Winnipeg River.
Had a lovely time and Bobbie was extremely helpful and replied to any questions we had within minutes. We canoed and swam from docks. Great hiking areas only a short drive away. Cottage was big and very clean. Bedding and towels were new and having on site laundry was a big plus. Noise from highway was minimal and didn't bother us. Kenora only a 10 minute drive away.
Excellent as always. Great location, great owners, wonderful views, peaceful and quiet. First class accommodations. Great fishing on the Winnipeg River -- bass, pike, and walleye. Easy access to the town of Kenora with all is amenities and activities.
Best place in Kenora!
If you are tired of staying in sub par northern resorts, try this one! It’s well worth the money! Place is awesome! Owrners are the nicest people in Canada! Better in person the pictures on line show. You won’t be disappointed!
Nice place, nice owner
This is a very nice place to stay. Close to water level compared to some other options. The owner was very helpful and concerned that we enjoy the stay. We usually stay at a fishing camp, but with the ladies joining us this year we needed a bigger place. This fit the bill perfectly.
Very nice waterfront cottage
HAUGHHAVEN is a lovely place to be, charming and convenient.
We came from New Zealand to escape our winter for about 10 weeks.
The setting on the peninsula is beautiful. The house feels like a home rather than a rental or cottage. Everything is of very good quality, clean and comfortable. There is enough room to accommodate 8 people with ease. The kitchen is in good working order with all the appliances you would need even for a long stay. The heating and cooling system is working fine and we have had no problems which could not be solved from our owners Bobbi & Trevor in a very short timeframe and with a very friendly approach. The deck and the boat dock are great to have and even parking your car was only meters from the entrance door. You have direct access to the Winnipeg River System which is over 200 km long and comes with hundreds of small Islands. The water is clear and with 23 Degree Celsius you can have a swim as well. Fishing was great and we caught Musky, Walleye, Pike and Bass every time even in front of the house at the peninsula. The neighbours were friendly and supportive and shopping is only about 15 minutes away in Kenora.
All together a perfect place to relax and to unwind. The only inconvenience was, that, depending on wind direction there was some traffic noise from the nearby Highway 17A. But nevertheless it was not major and all the animals around did not care and we have had deer, chipmunks, squirrels, pelicans, blue herons, eagles, geese, ducks, loons, turtles and more direct in front of our rental.
Thanks Bobbi and Trevor
Great place for a family vacation
The place is great, close to town and being on the water is awesome.
The Lake of The Woods region is famous for beautiful waterways with rocky shoals and abundant wildlife. Nothing beats a day on the water be it paddling, boating, fishing, sailing or swimming. Guided fishing trips can be arranged as can boat rentals. A canoe is included with the property so renters can immediately get out and explore all that the area has to offer. The beautiful town of Kenora is situated on the shore of Lake of the Woods and hosts a number of summer festivals and a weekly farmers market. There are numerous trails for hiking and mountain biking. You can experience all that Canada's lake country has to offer in this gorgeous locale.
