Beautiful, comfortable, friendly spot
My husband and I had a great weekend stay at Martha's place and would absolutely return. Well-considered, high-quality renovation with fun and interesting touches, all very comfortable. We visit Stonington often, but nearly always by boat, and it was a nice treat t enjoy Martha's place while getting the boat ready for the season in nearby Noank. Great find!
Gorgeous, pristine historic home
I spent five days at this lovely retreat by the sea. The apartment exceeded my expectations--it has been meticulously restored and retains the charm of a historic home (beautiful wide-board floors, lovely architectural features, cozy, tastefully decorated rooms) while it has all the modern amenities one could possibly need--a full kitchen, a heavenly bed, a spacious bath. It was just steps from the ocean, and close to restaurants and shops (The Water Street Cafe was amazing!) Martha was an attentive host and made herself available, though there was really nothing more that I needed. I hope to be back one day!
Clean, cozy getaway
The owner was helpful and accommodating. The property was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. The patio was lovely.
A Perfect Property
This was exactly what we were looking for! We already knew how quaint Stonington is, but we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the perfect location of this property. A very quiet, friendly neighborhood and only a half block from accessing the ocean with a kayak, which the owner supplied. Bikes were also available, which we did enjoy riding through all of Stonington and there is just a short walk to the local beach. The apartment itself is perfectly comfortable with an amazingly large outside patio & deck, which is very private. It is tastefully decorated and the kitchen is large, updated and very efficient. All the needed necessities were supplied plus a few extra treats, such as coffee, cream & sugar. The apartment has a window air conditioner in the bedroom, which was all we needed to stay comfortable. We are already looking into booking this property for next year.
Location-Style-Ocean-Beach-Comfort - Stonington
Fantastic location close to Watch Hill, Mystic and the wineries. The VRBO is comfortable with TV and living area, perfect kitchen and eating area, nice shower/bath and all the little comforts of a bathroom, comfy bed in a separate bedroom. Absolutely, the most stunning was the back patio area with table/chairs, loungers and conversation area. The landscaping was awe inspiring. Stonington was fun to explore by walking - cute shops and restaurants. Easy walk to a beach and many benches to watch sunrise/sunset set - fantastic host
Just about perfect
This is a very charming apartment in a great little town. The apartment comes with lots of great amenities, even bikes and a kayak (we kayaked out to a little island — fun!). The apartment owners are helpful, but hands off so you really feel like you have your own place for the weekend.
Stonington is a great little town, too — pleasantly situated on a narrow peninsula right on the CT / RI border. From the apartment, you can walk to a beach, parks, restaurants, etc. And you're just 20 minutes from Mystic, New London, beaches or to the great towns and beaches in Rhode Island.
I highly recommend this apartment. It gave us a quiet little nest in the middle of a lot of activity.
