Why Lisette and/or Gwen Reservations chose Nanaimo
Water views are nice but ocean and marina views are NICER!! :) We found the suite really relaxing and love the views from the balcony. We could sit forever on the balcony and watch the comings and goings of the boats and kayakers - it is lovely.
What makes this Condo unique
The real selling points for us were the gorgeous views from the balcony and its central location within Nanaimo. Nanaimo’s downtown is only a 2-3 minute drive (within walking distance), where you can enjoy numerous opportunities for dining, shopping and entertainment. There are 3 restaurants with stumbling distance (b/w 600-800 meters). The Nanaimo general hospital is less than 3 kms away. Enjoy the downtown or take advantage of the many activities; kayaking, swimming, hiking, beach combing, boating, fishing, wild life viewing, wine tasting, etc., that Nanaimo has to offer. The world famous Newcastle Island is right across the water. You can take a short (4 minute) ferry from downtown Nanaimo to Newcastle or grab a bite at the Dingy Dock Pub - Canada's only floating pub located on Protection Island.

From the day we booked the place online until the day we left, everything was just great. The location is literally minutes from the Departure bay Ferry, and Gwen was there to meet us when we arrived and showed us around the condo. Immediately you notice the safe and secure enclosed parking area with lots of room. There is a elevator from the parking area to your floor. When you first walk into the condo, you notice that it is exactly like the pictures but better. Very clean and modern. And then, you can see right out to the boat harbour and walk out onto your balcony. Once we got settled and start checking things out, all is in order. The kitchen has pretty much everything you will need. Also, a BBQ on the balcony. Bedrooms are a good size and the beds are very comfortable with very nice linens. There are restaurants within walking distance, and getting downtown is only minutes away. We stayed for a month, so this was a perfect base for our travels on the island.
Could continue on and on, but for our first stay in Nanaimo, it worked out for us perfectly!
Again, very easy check in and out, and Gwen was very quick and promptly answered any questions, which were very few!

The apartment was very well layed out and homie. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable.
It was nice to have a little barbecue on the deck. The place was very modern and clean. We enjoyed our stay. The communication between the host was good.
The suite was gorgeous and very clean. Bed was very comfortable.
The only suggestions we would submit would be better lighting over the bathroom sink as it is very difficult to see what you are doing. A hook for the bathrobe and a soap dish. All very minor except perhaps the lighting
Beware - noisy neighbor down below!
Modern, beautiful, comfortable, security, generous living space are just some of the words that come to mind when I think of this vacation property ... Gwen really thought of every thing when she designed this vacation space! If I was scoring this location on these facts alone I would have given it 5/5, but unfortunately it was all the other factors that seemed to be beyond her control that brought it down.
The major downfall was the overall design of the building. We pulled up to what we thought was going to condos and instead was a hotel... and it is a hotel in part of the building, vacation condos here and there, and several long term rental tenants sprinkled in between. We were treated to the daily noises that came from the rental below, which included her two yappy dogs, loud music, and even..... love making. Not exactly what we expecting, and I’m not sure if this can be fixed for future vacationers. We really think it would be a great idea if you get a luggage cart of some kind... it’s a long way to go from the garage, through security doors, up the elevator to the 4th floor with all the luggage... especially if you’re staying for a long time and have lots of gear! Overall... it’s a very nice place to stay!

Thank-you for your kind words. I again sincerely apologize for the noise issue. As you know, when you did contact me half way through your stay we addressed the noise issue immediately and the tenant complied immediately. Had I been notified even sooner; the issue would have been addressed even sooner.
Fortunately, this matter was subsequently brought before the Strata Council as the tenants were in breach. Tenants are not allowed two pets per suite and they no longer have two pets. I truly believe your experience was a "one off" as we have had over 60 plus positive reviews with no noise issues before and since.
As for the distance from the stairs to the suite you are also the first to mention this issue. I do always offer help with carrying luggage to the elevator and to the suite but ultimately it is up to the guests as to whether they will receive this help. Again, I apologize for the noise issue, but I truly believe this issue has been rectified for future guests.
Great location condo!
This two bedroom condo which was directly on the harbor in Nanaimo was in a word--great! Each bedroom had it's own bath, with plenty of room for two couples. The unit had modern, upscale furniture and appointments and a modest sized balcony overlooking the docks and boats with a table and chairs and a small electric bar-b-que grill. It was very clean with little sign of the wear and tear common to these type units. The owner was very helpful. She met us when we checked in to explain how everything worked and get us set up with parking, etc. She again came by at check-out to see if we had any problems and to make sure we hadn't left anything behind. The kitchen was particularly well equipped and organized so there was no problem finding the cookware, utensils, etc. In addition to the views, the location of the rental was convenient to shopping, attractions and restaurants (including a good one just across the parking lot). The owner had recently installed air conditioning which was very effective and welcome, particularly during the first couple days of our stay. It should be noted that the building that houses this condo and several other units also contains a section of hotel accommodations. The units in the hotel section don't always get the best reviews, so it's important to keep in mind this unit is privately owned and is not affiliated with the hotel or its management. We would certainly stay in this condo again if the opportunity arises for us to go to Nanaimo and would highly recommend to others
Extremely clean, attention to detail which included pressed bed linens, very comfortable bed.
