Great, waterfront, old-fashioned seasonal cottage
We had a wonderful week in Beth and Stan's cottage on the water (Herrick Bay) in Brooklin (a couple of miles south of the village. This is Maine the way I remember it sixty+ years when I first spent family vacations (in Owls Head/Ash Point, near Rockland). Unfinished, open stud construction (lightly stained wood). There is no Internet in the cottage, but there is up at Beth and Stan's house and we sat there outside and did our email daily, but used the wonderful Brooklin Library when we had more online-work to do. No TV either. And the only heat is a comforting gas fireplace...so plan accordingly if you book in early spring or late fall.
The view over the bay is wonderful and there are two main bedrooms plus a small third BR. The kitchen is fully equipped so we cooked several dinner meals here, but there are a number of wonderful restaurants nearby (Brooklin and Blue Hill). Enjoy!
