One of a kind location for those looking for a truly unique Cape Cod experience. Feel comfortable knowing your vacation will not be ruined by loud neighbors partying the night away as this house is extremely private and sits on 30 acres of conservation land with no neighbors. Your vacation starts as you turn down the private driveway through the woods, past the cranberry bog, and onto your secluded oasis. Wake up to the sounds of birds and check in on the resident osprey bathing himself in the lake. Then go for a leisurely cruise in the canoe or be adventurous and try one of the stand up paddle boards provided at the house. Once you're done with the water activities, time to head out for a nice walk or bike ride on some of the miles of private walking and biking trails around the house (no one but you will even know they are there)! Just looking to relax? Well grab a drink and sit around the fire pit or enjoy the huge stone patio right on the lake. There really is no need to go to the beach and deal with crowds as the water is 20 feet from your front door, but for those that like to add a little salt water to their vacations, North and South shore beaches are within a 10 minute drive. Fantastic restaurants and shopping are also within a 15 minute drive. Welcome to your Cape Cod Dream. Private and Very Relaxing
The property was pretty much as advertised. Convenient to just about anywhere on the Cape. The approach driveway is pretty rough, but we were driving an AWD SUV so no problem there. Some passenger or sports cars might not be so easy. Once you arrive, though all is forgotten. We had been traveling for about a week throughout New England and this was easily our most relaxing stop (a coastal cottage in Maine was a close second). The main bed was a very comfortable memory foam bed. The pillows weren’t much to brag about, but they were easily adaptable. Cell coverage was poor and unpredictable (AT&T) and the WIFI wasn’t much better—very slow. We had plenty to read, though, so we didn’t really miss the internet. Kitchen was very accommodating. The outdoor grill worked well and was familiar to us as we have the same grill at home. We enjoyed the outdoors the first night, but the weather precluded us the following two nights. All in all a great experience and we’ll look forward to another stay if we visit the Cape again.
Chris' home is amazing, and an ideal spot to get away on the Cape. Situated about a half mile down a dirt road on a pond, you truly feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere when you're there. The home itself is nicely appointed with very comfortable beds and all the amenities you could want. We greatly enjoyed the paddleboards and fire pit, and Chris was an incredible host, easily reachable and very gracious. We'll definitely be coming back!
This is the second time that we have stayed here. It is a wonderfully secluded place but still close to everything that you need. Lounging on the patio is wonderful before and after being out on the pond. Having use of the paddleboards and canoe is great. The house is also very comfortable if the weather keeps you inside. Our four legged friend loves it here too!
Cape Cod Oasis
I've been coming to the Cape on and off for a long time. I think this is the best place I've ever stayed in. The setting is absolutely private and beautiful. The house overlooks a pond that is fringed with reeds, lily pads and flowers. It takes about 20-30 minutes to leisurely paddle around the pond, where you will see a profusion of dragonflies, fish, and birds, including great blue herons and ospreys. It's an excellent spot to swim, paddle and fish. My nieces and nephews had a blast swimming and fishing.
The house is small, but well furnished and very clean. The kitchen was stocked with pretty much everything I needed to cook and the outside gas grill is excellent. The patio is a wonderful place to chill out and enjoy the scenery. I highly recommend this property to nature lovers and anyone seeking a very secluded oasis in the middle of the Cape.
I rented this place for myself and my three sons. It's a small house but super cute! The property was very neat & clean. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment on this property. It was private, cozy, and absolutely relaxing. My boys are 19, 16, and 12. Naturally at these stages they tend to bicker a lot, but not the case this time around. They barely left the water, and we all got to try paddle boarding for the first time. We made some new memories and my youngest even coined a phrase that I'm sure we'll be using during every vacation from now on. I would definitely recommend this rental and am already considering renting it again in the future. The outdoor shower was lovely and we could not be more grateful for the privacy this beautiful place offers. I know limited wifi can be inconvenient, but it was gave us all some much needed time for ourselves and each other. We were so sad to go but at least we left relaxed. We stayed during fourth of July week, and we got to see fireworks over the water thanks to some of the neighbors across the way, and it was absolutely picturesque. The landlord was very quick to answer my call (only one was needed) and very thorough with the renters packet and all the information included. Which a type A personality like myself greatly appreciated!
My wife and I stayed at Chris' Cape Cod cottage for 4 days with our dog in June. We thought it was extremely convenient (only 1.5 hours from Boston and 10 minutes to multiple large grocery stores), but tucked away so you felt you were someplace quite remote. We had plans to visit the ocean beaches and restaurants nearby, but loved the cottage so much we ended up staying put during our entire trip. We loved swimming in the pond, and we went paddleboarding every day. The grill is great and the fire pit was excellent. One recommendation to future visitors: you should bring a cutting board as well as tupperware/ziplocs given these were the major pieces missing in the kitchen. We would love to stay again!
