About William Graf
I have been working with interior designers and architects in Seattle, New York City and Los Angeles for over 30 years. This has given me the opportunity to appreciate some of the finest design work available in this country. As part of my profession, I have been exposed to the best of the best available in North America and Europe. I thoroughly enjoy being able to share this experience with others through remodeling and renovation projects such as this delightful urban two bedroom apartment. I also enjoy good company, wine and cruising on Lake Washington, Lake Union and the Puget Sound in our 1956 Chris Craft motor yacht. I can frequently be seen wearing a smile.
William Graf purchased this Apartment in 1995
Why William Graf chose Eastlake and Portage Bay
We are located in the highly desirable Eastlake/Lake Union area. This has excellent proximity to both downtown and the University of Washington. Public transportation is close by and runs frequently. Lake Union is a few blocks down the hill with one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the United States, the famous "Seattle Houseboat Community". The location is ideal for quick access to I-5 either north or south and seems to offer an excellent choice for everyone whether they want to walk, take public transportation or drive.
What makes this Apartment unique
The Eastlake neighborhood offers great coffee, fine dining and its own unique blend of sophistication and funk. The Lake can be walked around, given good weather or, if not, good clothing. Houseboats float while attached to their floating docks. The entire neighborhood is in constant, yet peaceful motion. The movie "Sleepless in Seattle" made this community famous the world over. It is ironic that I find the gentle motion of these iconic abodes to be most restful and relaxing. You will find these unique homes all around the lake, Eastlake, Westlake and Northlake. In between, in the South Lake Union area, is the Center for Wooden Boats, the Museum of History and Industry and Lake Union Park. Rounding up around Westlake, catch a float plane to the San Juan Islands or continue walking along marinas and more house boats. This will take you to the Fremont bridge and the "center of the universe", more commonly known as Fremont. Grab a bite in one of many neighborhood restaurants, have a brew at a brew pub or maybe just a quick bite at the PCC deli. PCC is also wonderful grocery store that features an extensive selection of healthy and organic food stuffs. From here head east along North Northlake way for more neighborhood sight seeing. Maybe you want to just take some deli food with you for a stop along North Northlake Way at Gasworks Park. Enjoy a picnic on the grass with a beautiful view of the Lake and downtown. These are just a few things to be enjoyed out your front door.

Very well appointed and conveniently located
Great little apt. The large kitchen table was perfect for our thanksgiving day dinner! The kitchen and bath was very well stocked! It was so nice having plenty of utensils/cups etc. and paper goods. Great restaurants right down the street. Our favorite for breakfast was 14 Carrott and the Otter Box for lunch/dinner. We will be back, especially since our daughter lives one block over from this apt. 😊
This home was great. All you could need and close to everything! Clean, cute, and well appointed.
Just Perfect for Enjoying Seattle!

We are repeat customers. This stay, similar to past found the rental well kept and fully equipped
We enjoy the location, amenities, and easy access to much of Seattle.
Very clean and nice but noisey
The apartment is very clean and nice has every amenity that you need . It is on the corner so you get a lot of traffic noise and the upstairs neighbors are very noisy and keep late hours.
I am pleased you liked the apartment and how we keep it up. I am so sorry to hear that the noise from neighbors disturbed you. The upstairs neighbors were guests that had excellent reviews and we were unaware of any complaints until reading your review just now. When we renovated this apartment, we went to great lengths to install additional sound insulation so that noise wouldn't travel between units. In addition, we installed an extra set of windows behind the existing windows for further acoustic insulation. However, we understand that some guests, especially those accustomed to quieter environments, may be disturbed by the sounds of an urban setting. We often hear from guests who find it very convenient and surprisingly quiet, given the central location.
Clean, Comfortable, Convenient
The Eastlake apartment was a great spot for us – extremely clean throughout, with a fully stocked kitchen and bath, and an easy walk (downhill!) to a handful of restaurants. Because of the proximity to the highway, there is some traffic noise, but nothing that would dissuade me from staying there again. Also just to set the correct expectation, the apartment is a bit far to walk to downtown sites, but it is a short drive. We especially appreciated the excellent directions we received from the host before and during our stay. Very responsive -- and he even arranged for a few days of sunshine while we were there!
The Eastlake neighborhood is conveniently located between Downtown and the University of Washington. We are a few blocks from the lakefront best known for its houseboat community. Walk the docks, launch a paddle board or kayak and enjoy this magical urban community. Walk along the waterfront to South Lake Union area. This is best known for the Center for Wooden Boats, the Museum of History and Industry and the Lake Union Park. Close to downtown—it’s easily accessible by foot, bus, and streetcar—the recently revitalized South Lake Union neighborhood offers peekaboo glimpses of the Space Needle and floatplane sightings on Lake Union. Pack a day here admiring the wealth of shiny new skyscrapers, the new Amazon campus, and the glorious lakefront park. All this and everything in between offers the visitor extensive opportunities to enjoy the finest Seattle has to offer.
