About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Located at Sunbird, this is an oceanfront condo which overlooks soft, sugary beach and beautiful Gulf of Mexico! We have owned the condo for many years and had a few complaints about our furniture, so we upgraded almost everything. including a new sleeper sofa that makes into a queen bed, a new matching love-seat, a new queen bed in bedroom with a memory foam mattress, and a new dresser. Also, my wife added a new rug in the living room and new art. In addition we have a flat screen TV in bedroom, and living room with ports in front which make it easy to plug in X-Box or Video games, updated light fixtures, stainless refrigerator (with ice maker), stainless stove. The appliances are all full size which is great if you are coming in for a week.

While we manage the property directly (without a rental company to add their margin), we do use a weekly cleaning service.

Sunbird offers three well-maintained swimming pools! Especially nice. Come, enjoy warm-water temperatures and uncrowded, pristine beaches of early spring!

Be aware that Sunbird is a 25 year old property and it does show some age. If you are expecting a brand new pristine condo, please rent at The Wharf, across the street. You won't have a gulf view or a quick elevator ride to the beach, but it is newer. While our condo is in good shape with new furniture, it does show some age.

We accept credit cards thru PayPal. Association specifies no singles under 25 years old and No Pets. This is a non-smoking unit. Please e-mail or telephone for more information.

Please know that you will be required to purchase a $20 parking pass and pool wristbands on site.

Why Randy Reid chose Florida North West

We like Panama City because it is very family-friendly. The ocean is simply beautiful and restaurants are within walking distance. We typically eat breakfast and lunch in the condo, so having Walmart close is a benefit.

What makes this condo unique

Sunbird is a good mixture of people. While it is mainly a family resort, you will also see snowbirds from Canada and young professionals.

3 Pools, Non-smokers only, If you, or anyone in your party, is a smoker, please do NOT rent our unit. Sorry no pets, not even small pets. This is a HOA rule and is strictly enforced. A guest brought a dog once and got evicted--it was bad for everyone.

Not impressed...

The location/view of this condo is about the only thing that it has going for it. We had a couple issues that were hard to forget about. First, as soon as we opened the door, a strong smell of mold over took us. A quick trip to Walmart for some candles and febreeze fixed that problem. Next, we had a couple unwanted visitors (cockroaches). Lastly, everything in the condo has been updated using very low quality craftsmanship.

The condo facility is older, but upkept nicely.

Perfect vacation!!😎

We took our granddaughter for 4 days. Our first time ever staying at The Sunbird. It was very convenient to the beach and pools and next door to Pineapple Willys. ( her favorite) The condo is small but was clean and just fine for the 3 of us. The owners were great!

Great location great view!

It's a nice quaint little place. Good for a couple great view of the ocean. I've seen a few negative reviews on here but it looks newly renovated and definitely cozy. Only one suggestion maybe a newer mattress or maybe a mattress top from Walmart. Besides that I give this place a 10/10 especially for the price. Will do it again in the future for sure!

The room was very clean and well kept. There were new towels and bathcloths, pull out couch had a comfy mattress, and plenty of kitchen utensils. It was located right beside pineapple willys and a short walk from Wal-Mart and waffle house.

The view was gorgeous. We will be staying again.

Good weekend getaway

The room was obviously an older space, but it was clean when we arrived and it served it's purpose for the weekend. We stay on the beach most of the day anyway, so the only thing we needed the room for was to shower and sleep. The whole building could use an exterminator service. There were large water bugs around the pool deck at night and we did find two large ones in the bathroom of our room. The room was clean and it was nice to have three pools, but it could still use some updates. You can tell some of the renovations were not professionally done. Also, a note: It does not mention on here that you have to purchase a parking hang tag and wristbands (that you have to wear the entire time), and they only take cash.

Older Condo- but needs new cleaning service and upgrades

As the owner of this Condo would tell you, this condo is not new. However, it is my opinion that the cleaning service could be a little better. We just didnt get the felling that the condo was cleaned very well before our arrival.

Also, the condo could use some upgraded towels and linens, I think most people would prefer all while linens, and all while towels. This condo had multiple colored towels. While towels can be bleached clean, where as colored towels cant, and therefore don't look as clean as how white towels would look. A note to the owner, the new stove is nice, but its in the way of the dishwasher. I wasn't installed back far enough to open the dish washer. I had to lift up and push the stove back to open the dishwasher. Not good. Also, the sofa pillows could use some more batting, but really, the condo needs new sofa and love seat, or just a sofa.

So I have no problem with an older condo, but I do insist on cleanliness. Despite some upgrades, the condo could use a few more as stated. But again, my biggest issue was cleanliness. I found a peanut in the sleeper sofa when I lifted it for bed time and doritos and other debris behind the sofa. So after all this, I literally cleaned this entire condo myslef on the first night while my wife and kids slept in the bed just so my family and I could feel like we were in a clean condo. At first we couldn't find the linen for the sleeper sofa so I went out and bought king size sheets for the sofa at the near by Walmart. I later found the none white linen but I was actually glad I bought linen because this stuff just didn't look clean. Paid about $17 for the while linen so we decided to just keep it for future vacations that we may encounter like this one.

In summary. I mopped floors, cleaned the bathroom, shower, etc... I emailed the owner and expressed my concerns and he initially stated that he would refund my cleaning fee. But when I later told him that I actually found the spare linen it appears his opinion changed. Maybe he assumed I had OCD or something. I apologized for saying there was no spare linen, but it appears he ignored that fact that I cleaned the entire condo myself. I even emailed him pictures of all of the debris I found. His cleaning lady called me and stated moving sofas and stuff was too much for just one person. So there you have it. at then end, clean fee was not refunded and requested for late check out was denied. my take
