About Katherine Brown
Keith and Katherine Brown are a realtor team with Sotheby's in Houston Texas. They have been married 28 years and live in the Houston Heights in a 1920s bungalow. As two "old souls," they love old homes and purchased their home in Round Top in 2007 and thoughtfully decorated it with finds from the semi-annual antique festival that takes place in Round Top. The Browns decided this year to open their home to visitors during the festival so that others could experience the 100+ year old home.

Why Katherine Brown chose Round Top
We are antique lovers and we wanted our home to reflect an eclectic style that would serve as inspiration for family and friends when they visit. Here's the way we want you to experience our home . . . wake to the birds singing, get a cup of coffee and gather in the kitchen to make breakfast cooked on the commercial Viking range, open the wine frig and mix up mimosas and take them out to the deck. Sit in a cushioned deck chair to plan you day. Dress and head out to the antique fields for a fun day of shopping. Come back to the U-B-U Country House and luxuriate in the outdoor shower. Put on your lounge clothes and sit on the front porch with your beverage and watch the others heading back home and remember that you will be sleeping in that comfy bed upstairs. Gather in the dining room for dinner at the vintage table set for eight and celebrate the victories of shopping in the fields. Then, retire to the back deck to watch the sun set over the 100+ year old oaks and then spend the evening at the fire pit planning tomorrow and the finds you will take home. Retire to your bed with lovely linens and fluffy pillow and then wake to do it all again.

Lovely, well-appointed home
The owners of this property are the most thoughtful folks and it shows in every detail. The kitchen is so well-appointed that vacation cooking is a joy rather than a chore and there are so many lovely places to picnic as well as nap. Thank you for your hospitality!
A wonderful Texas Farmhouse!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house is decorated to the T, very comfortable and welcoming! Could not have asked for a better place to stay to enjoy Roundtop, Marburger antiquing! Easy access to all the venues. If I have to say, the only drawback is only one full bath indoors. The outdoor shower was fun, but another bath inside would have just been the finishing touch to this wonderful house. Would be thrilled to stay there again! Thanks, Katherine!
First Antique Festival Trip
What an absolute gem! Felt like we were visiting family. We've always wanted to go to the Antique Festival and decided on a girls trip last minute. Had trouble finding a place so decided to try VRBO. The moment we booked, the owner, Katherine stayed in touch with me. She gave us wonderful advice on restaurants and which antique venues to go to. The house was amazinly decorated. She was so attentive to our needs. The welcome basket with notepads, measuring tape for antiquing was so thoughtful and came in handy. She even left us snacks. Festival was great, but would have been just as happy had I never left the house! The porches were amazing for morning coffee and evening glasses of wine. Would return just to escape for a while! Definitely a must rental for the area!!!!! Thank you Katherine:)
Cozy, eclectic, charming!
The wife and I enjoyed the style and attention to detail that this farmhouse displays. The kids had a great time exploring the property and playing outside. Wine in the evening on the front porch was delightful. Prefect spot for a Round Top weekend. If you bring very young children, you will have to keep a watchful eye at all times because there are valuable antiques within reach at every turn.
It was a perfect house for our group of eight ladies!!
There is absolutely too many wonderful things to list about this precious house!! It was wonderful, clean, beautifully decorated, plenty of stock items in kitchen!!! I will definitely be staying here again! It's a great location for antique shoppers!!!
This property is well located to access the Round Top Antique festival via back roads (Rhode Road & Hartfield Road) as to avoid visitors on Highway 237. A terrific location that is slightly removed from the activity where you can relax after a successful day of shopping the festival.
