My Husband and I purchased this property in 2007. We both graduated from Cave City School. We both love the outdoors and that is what attracted us to this property.
Ken & Stella purchased this cabin in 2007
We was traveling in the area where this property is located at and saw a for sale sign and decided to check into it. We had always loved the area because it is on the main highway but it is such a beautiful drive along the bluffs and is very few houses in the area.
We Fell in Love With the Beautiful Creek That is in Front of the Cabin.
We stayed over a rainy January weekend for my mom's 60th birthday. We knew we would spend a lot of time indoors and the cabin was just perfect. Sweet decor, comfy seating and beds, and seriously everything you need except the food itself. There are tons of DVDs, great basic cable (Disney Jr thank goodness!), and some games. I was a little worried about all sharing one bath (5 adults and 1 child) but the bath was nicely tucked away from the living areas and afforded good privacy. We grilled out and took advantage of the fire pit one evening. And we even got shoot a few hoops. We would love to come back in milder weather to enjoy the outdoors and porches more. I'm sure coffee on the porch would be amazing! We also appreciated the fresh flowers that made for great pictures with the birthday cake. Would definitely recommend! Also, make sure you read their driving directions and don't just follow GPS. :)
Came out for a weekend getaway just after Christmas. It was fantastic! Cabin stayed nice and warm, you can see the creek right out the living room windows. Even shut off the heat and air and left the windows open one morning and let the smells and breeze flow through. Perfect for a quiet couple of days and not too far from anything.
Quiet, remote, beautiful. We wanted a place where we could go and just 'check out' from work, home life and stress in general and this cabin and surrounding property were perfect for this.
It is nestled in the hills of deer and cattle country, the creek is crystal clear, peaceful and beautiful.
Nice little trails that go down to different parts of the creek and an area of cane that my 4 year old boy called the bamboo forest, part of the trail runs right through it and he loved it.
There are two different fire pits, one by the cabin and the other is down by the creek. We started a fire in the one at the creek and cooked sandwiches on it.
The cabin itself is awesome too. Nice feel, very clean, loaded with everything you need. My wife even loved that they left a makeup remover for her in the bathroom and some cookies on the island in the kitchen. Couch and recliner are comfortable, beds were comfortable and clean too.
Directv with basic channels and flat screens in the living room, master bedroom and upstairs.
Nice, new stainless steel appliances, gas stove and a gas heater on the wall by the recliner that heats the area up very quickly.
Can't wait to come back in the summer when it's hot outside and that cool creek water is calling for me to jump in and swim.
We will be back. This time it was just my wife and son with me. There is plenty of room for grandma and grandpa to come with us and it will be perfect for just me and my wife to go by ourselves for a getaway as well.
We really couldn't be happier with this place and it's location.
Walmart isn't but maybe 20 minutes away or so but we took all the food we needed for the weekend and never left until we checked out. Which was exactly what we wanted to do.
Highly recommend staying here and the owners are the easiest I've ever dealt with when renting a condo or vacation home!
My husband and I were looking to get away for a long weekend for some R&R! We stumbled across this VRBO and after reading all the wonderful reviews we had to try it out! It is everything everyone said it was and more. It is SO clean, well kept, decorated so darling, stocked with everything you would possibly need, the sheets and towels smelled great, all the little extras that made it so special like fresh flowers on the island, candy in a dish, peanuts, lots of candles, games, movies galore. It is on 16 beautiful acres and so close to the river..we so enjoyed sitting down by the river on chilly nights with a fire in the firepit looking at the stars. I have to mention the amazing screened in porch... we really enjoyed sitting out there for breakfast, evening appetizers, playing checkers etc. I really could go on and on. We had such a wonderful relaxing time, enjoying the conveniences of home but experiencing the atmosphere of being around no one!
We will be back for sure! Thank you Regina and Ken for sharing this beautiful place with us. Thank you for keeping it affordable as well.
The cabin was better than described. Everything was so clean, and smelled so good. Everything we needed was there. I would go back to Stella's Cabin, and would recommend my friends and realitives to stay there as well. We went shopping in Hardy. That is a great little town, lots of antiques and craft items, along with good food! Wish we could have stayed longer. Walmart was nearby at Ash Flatt. We built a fire at night. There was even a wood pile for us to use! Our stay couldn't have been better.
Absolutely gorgeous! We were greeted with beautiful mums leading up to the front door! The cabin is decorated beautifully with a rustic vintage cabin feel! They had everything we needed except food and drinks. There's a nice little fire pit next to the creek that is a short walk behind the cabin. Horseshoes, basketball, chess, checkers, dominoes, etc. There was even fishing supplies. I don't think you could actually be bored! We never ventured off the property but once to make Walmart trip (12min drive) because we were so content! We look forward to coming back!
