We live in Oakland where I used to sell real estate. I grew up on the Monterey Pennsula and have family there. We have 6 horses and bring them to Carmel Valley when we come. We take advantage of the riding in Garland Park and surrounding areas.
Owner purchased this House in 1960
Why Owner chose Carmel Valley
This is one of the first homes built in Carmel Valley. It has been in my family since the 1950's. My husband and I purchased it from my brothers and sisters in 1994, We totally remodeled it in 2000 with the idea we would retire there. We lived there for about 1 year and decided we were not ready for retirement and decided to rent it for vacationers. It is remodeled above and beyond a vacation home with attention to detail and the feeling of charm and warmth.
What makes this House unique
We love being able to walk to everything in the Village-coffee at the Grey Goose(they have yummy baked goods baked every morning), dinners at one of the Village restaurants, concerts in the park or window shopping at one of the antique stores. We also enjoy the firepit in the evenings with smores with our nieces and nephews. The Valley has the best weather-almost always sunny yet close enough to Carmel and Monterey for all the events.

a lovely quiet retreat to share with my family at Christmas
A really nice house to share with two adult children and spouses. Everyone had their own space. The house is set back from the road, so very quiet, but easy to walk down to the restaurant/wine tasting area. We walked around the old airfield and the adjacent streets and most days we hiked 2 or 3 hours in parks that are only a short drive away. A beautiful area.
Cute house but instructions to get in would have been great
We were unable to access the home until 9:30 at night as we had never received check in instructions and the owner who did not answer calls until late in the evening. We did not know the location of the lock box (rear of the house) or code. The house itself was cute, but did not make up for the frustration the night before our wedding.
Perfect quite home
Perfect home we stayed with friends for a wedding we walked to town, winery and loved sitting around the fire pit at night Loved the house so much never made it to Camel or site seeing
Thank youso much for the kind words. I look forward to meeting you in the future.
Beautiful house and property
Enjoyed our time here so much! The house was perfect for us. Great space both inside and outside. Comfortable beds and couches to relax on. Loved sitting on the back patio and seeing the various wildlife around the property.
Thank you so much.Glad you enjoyed it as much as we do.
Comfortable and quiet in a beautiful setting
We really enjoyed the lovely house for a small family reunion/birthday celebration. It is spacious, quiet and comfortable. We are all cooks who appreciated having a well-equipped and functional kitchen. The outdoor spaces are also attractive, pleasant, and very useable.
Carmel Valley is a much quieter, low-key option than the Monterey Peninsula. It’s also really pretty! There are restaurants, wine tasting rooms, a swimming pool and park, plus grocery stores, all within walking distance of the house, which is also conveniently located near Laguna Seca Raceway. We will definitely return.
Nicest house I have ever stayed at!
Great location, we walked to everything.Loved the backyard with the lovely waterfall.Master bedroom was awesome-we were celebrating our 2nd honeymoon, the bathroom was great, loved the fireplace in the master as well. Saw lots of wildlife, deer, foxes and turkeys!
